Job Overview:
The Welder Lead is responsible for performing the duties of a journeyman welder.
This position is unaccompanied; and a Bachelor’s Quarter (BQ) will be provided.
Responsibilities:Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other weld-able materials.
Positions pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
Performing hands-on welding assignments and inspections that include visual, leak check.
Lays-out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe, or templates.
Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced welders.
Utilizes blueprints, technical manuals, and drawings to perform work.
Utilize knowledge and experience of welders, shop personnel and engineering principles and technical experts in producing quality fabrications.
Provide direction and support to ensure materials, machine shop personnel and welders product efficient quality products in a timely manner.
Maintain equipment by following required preventative maintenance schedules and documenting tasks.
Process material by following instructions on work orders, shop drawings, verify material and work accuracy.
Prepare and process all paperwork necessary to complete orders.
Maintain production schedule and ensure on time delivery
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:Mandatory:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Four (4) years’ experience as a journeyman welder.
Knowledge of welding tools and procedures as well as knowledge of geometry, weld shrinkage, welding techniques, and the physical properties of metal.
Ability to successfully pass any background checks, pre-employment physical requirements and drug testing required by the contract.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
Proof of COVID-19 VACCINATION:
In order to qualify for this position, you must be fully vaccinated prior to the start of your assignment and show proof of your vaccination status, unless you are legally entitled to an accommodation (religious or medical).
The definition of fully vaccinated is that you have:
1.) Received a vaccine that is recognized by the governing entity and is either a.) Two doses of Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine b.) Two doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford Vaccine c.) Two doses of Moderna Vaccine (or) d. One dose of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine; and
2.) Two weeks elapsed after the final dose was administered, which is either one or two doses depending on brand of the vaccination.
