CIEL HR Services Hiring for CIEL/SEL/27429: Director-Cooling Systems at Bengaluru, Karnataka Full Time

Experience Range: 19-25 years

Qualification: Masters Degree in electrical engineering, chemical engineering or related fields;

PhD with exposure to thermal management of batteries is a plus; 10+ years experience in a relevant senior engineering position

Job Location: Bangalore

Offered CTC: Persons having the current CTC on or above 50 plus lpa should only apply for the same since it is a Director level position.

Job Responsibilities:
Drive the development of the cooling system and its various sub components for the cell/battery packs at the organisation

Oversee and contribute to the thermal architecture of the battery as per the required attributes and behaviors

Drive the schema and layout of the coolant and cooling topology used in the battery design, constraint to the performance expectations and the battery chemistry

Drive the material selection for the in-pack coolant, partitions, insulations, etc., for the thermal management of the battery by evaluating its impact on the performance during faults, failures and abuse

Verse the mechanical design of the cooling subsystem down to component level

Take ownership for the thermal performance of the battery during expected usage and ensure robust fault tolerance and abuse performance

Steer the experimentations associated with the thermal performance evaluation of the battery during regular usage and abuse appropriate for the target market

Drive the vendor selection for the components by benchmarking against industry standards while keeping the cost low for the organisation

Eligibility Criteria:
Proven strengths in electro-chemistry

Keen understanding of thermodynamics and thermal management of high voltage systems

Experience with thermal topologies for battery construction and an understanding of material and topology selection on the attribute performance for the battery

Strong understanding of mechanical schematic diagrams

Experience with different mechanical layout and insulation methods for batteries.

Experience with working on projects with cross-functional teams

Experience with design and ownership of thermal management of batteries at large BEV startup

Experience in thermal management of battery pack required
