What You’ll Do

As a Data Security Architect at AppDynamics, you will play a crucial role in the development of our next-generation data security posture management product. This role is a great opportunity to join a growing team, and to help shape and execute our data security strategy. Data sprawl has increased by 10x in the last 5 years and with that the data security challenges have increased by 100x. Security has become a data problem. The objective of this product is to adopt a novel approach of using data analytics, advanced AI/ML and recent advancements in Gen AI to identify the data security attacks, diagnose and remediate issues in near real-time enabling the security admins to operate their data with confidence.

• Design and build the data security posture management product for various data stores such as databases, object stores, NoSQL, or document databases.

• Guide and mentor the development team through the software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the architectural vision.

• Work cross-functionally with other teams across time zones to drive the development

• Make appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-release while maintaining performance and scalability requirements

• Be able to clearly communicate goals and desired outcomes to internal project teams

• Interview, mentor and coach new team members

AppDynamics R&D Center in Bangalore was founded in 2015 and is focusing on leading core product and engineering areas fairly independently and works closely with San Francisco and other teams. Over the last 3 years, we have grown our Bangalore R&D Center which has evolved as a center of excellence for core product & engineering innovation in AppDynamics. We have been able to build a super strong team, that is working on very exciting and challenging problems. Who You Are

• Minimum 15+ years of proven experience.

• Extensive experience in one or more of these areas – data security, data analytics, AI/ML, and data engineering.

• Strong understanding of various data storage systems including databases, object stores, and document stores.

• Cloud Experience (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)

• Strong experience and knowledge with micro services, distributed systems, and performance optimization

• Experience with Agile development process and embrace Agile methodologies

• Hands on coding experience in Golang and Python.

• Understanding of Generative AI is a plus

• Proven experience in designing and implementing robust data security systems.

• Deep understanding of data security challenges and trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Certifications in Data Security or related field.

• Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
