Job Description

The Data Analytics Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

• Be the custodian and Governor of the Banking Warehouse Data Model
• Should gather, enrich and enhance the metadata for the data warehouse.
• Should participate in and contribute to Data Standardization exercises at an enterprise level
• Should perform enhancements to the Retail Bank data model in line with geographical DW requirements.
• Should interact with the Business Analysts across LoBs to gather analytical data requirements across geographies and enhance the EDW Data Model
• Should participate in and contribute to Design Workgroups for further EDW Product enhancements
• Should support BAU across geographies on a need basis with respect to the data model in terms of addition / modification of attributes
• Should interact with Host teams to get the latest layouts of source feeds and synchronize the data model with the latest feeds.
• Should develop the enterprise data dictionary and Business Glossary for the data warehouse data model.
• Be the data steward for the data warehouse
• Be the metadata champion
• Should mentor a team of data modelers and provide technical insights into big data technologies.
• Should be the custodian of data access and entitlements.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience building complex data warehouse data models as data modeler, architect and business analyst.
• Should be conversant in the different data model design philosophies and methods of Inmon and Kimball
• Should have conceptual, logical and physical data modeling capabilities
• Should have hands on working experience in Erwin/ ER Studio.
• Should have strong SQL knowledge
• Strong technical understanding of data architecture, data quality and related technologies along with data quality management principles.
• Should have design and architecture experience in Teradata and Cloudera.
• In-depth understanding and knowledge of business processes and system in the financial services industry
• Should be able to devise data quality processes and ensure its adherence
• Should have keen interest in and ability to elicit metadata from the host systems / business and ensure its storage and adoption in the warehouse
• Should be knowledgeable in industry standard models such as FSLDM or IBM-BDW.
• Mandatory to have experience in Advance analytics, Big Data environments and tools tools i.e. Hadoop, Hive, Impala and Arcadia and desirable to have experience in Python/ R/PySpark, Tableau etc to provide insights to business on various digital initiatives
• Strong execution and implementation mindset and track record
• Good communication and presentation skills are critical for the role – the role expects someone who communicates clearly and frequently and someone who has the ability to work with country / regional teams, technical analysts and non-technical teams
• Ability to think creatively to solve problem, and the ability to engage resources outside of their direct control to achieve objectives

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
