Job Description

The role of Business Analyst is part of Analytics and Information Management, based in Bangalore and reporting into the VP / AVP of the team. The scope of work includes solving business problems using data and statistical / ML techniques and mentoring junior members of the team to build strong capabilities to solve business use cases in Big Data environment. The work will include understanding the business problem and the key deliverable using Data Manipulation, Data Analysis, Feature Engineering, statistical modeling & ML, while maintaining the flexibility to switch amongst work streams based on business needs.
Responsibilities:

• Develop new Solutions that have high impact on revenue, expense management or customer experience.
• Conduct data-driven analysis. Apply quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods; prepare statistical and non-statistical data exploration and advanced statistical analysis to support business use cases
• Validate data, identify data quality issues (if any), and work with Technology to address them. Analyze and interpret data reports, draw conclusions and make recommendations answering specific business needs
• Manage stakeholder communication and drive the POC till production.
• Ensuring the MRM approvals of the models and build MRM document.
• Build strong domain expertise by effective communication with the business
• Be Forward Compatible – Generate new ideas, concepts and models .Explore new problem solving methods; Question and validate assumptions; Escalate identified risks and sensitive areas in terms of methodology and processes
• Talent Development: Supporting in training the resources and getting them future ready
• Research and Development: Keep abreast of the latest developments in the Analytics, ML & Deep Learning space including the latest techniques, packages , tools etc across industry and explore their usage in banking industry

• Mentorship Responsibilities : Act as a mentor to junior members in the team on solving key business challenges
• Document solutions and present results in a simple comprehensive way to non-technical audience in a dash boarding tool ( Tableau /Arcadia/ Micro-Strategy )

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years relevant experience
• Programming –Python, PySpark, SQL, R
• Big Data – HIVE/ PIG , Candidates with Scala / Java background will be preferred
• Exposure to Statistical Modelling / Machine Learning Algorithms
• Expertise in Dashboard/Visualization skills – VBA / Tableau /Arcadia/ Micro-Strategy/ Qlikview
• Very good written and verbal communication ability in an educational style. Ability to express thoughts and concepts clearly.
• Ability to work well with a variety of people and to show team-player attitude regardless the scope of responsibilities.
• Provide input into the innovation of new and enhanced approaches. Having initiative and a proactive attitude is desirable.
• Willing to learn and can-do attitude
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organized, detail oriented, flexible and adaptive to matrix work environment
• Ability to build partnerships with cross-function leaders

Education:

• Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience
