CITI Hiring for Trade Controls Analyst at Mumbai, Maharashtra, India Full Time

Job Description

This is a critical role with responsibility stretching across a number of functional and product areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively provide support on trade controls to EMEA countries. Responsibilities:

• Proactively plan for enhanced Trade (Documentary Services – Letter of Credit & Guarantee / Export & Import Documentary Operations/Trade finance/Working Capital finance) controls and governance for UK Trade and other selected countries in the region that need higher attention due to complexity of processes and other factors.
• Understanding operational risk elements and build strong focus on Risk and Control in transaction processing.
• Coordinate on EMEA/WE level various Trade related audits and reviews and be responsible to ensure satisfactory ratings for such reviews.
• Stress testing the oversight on outsourced service provider for the countries.
• Proactive management Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) across the region to ensure that they are completed within time.
• Coordinate assigned regional control procedures – Delta Screening, Quality Assurance for Level 1/2 disposition for sanctions and AML, NextGen boycott and list-based testing, Quarterly AML Metrics reporting etc.
• Proactive management of branch controls by providing direction on key control initiatives.
• Ensure regular review of Balance Sheet Exposure Report (BSER) for EMEA Trade and address issues with the regional / global control teams.
• Be engaged into Trade accounts under EMEA Trade Controls ownership reconciliation/proofing activity and design / implement effective control processes for this area eliminating MTP.
• Track and monitor processing errors and work with Trade operations teams to ensure appropriate controls are put in place to avoid recurrence of issues.
• Support ad-hoc process and in-country reviews to ensure strict compliance with all applicable procedures and guidelines.
• Design, implement and maintain regional operational procedure documents for regulatory requirements and controls including Sanctions, AML, Manual Payments, Regulation W, FATCA etc.
• Support ad hoc tasks for Trade Operations / TTS Client Operations as may be assigned by Manager from time to time.

Requirements:

• Enthusiasm and strong desire to work in Operations.
• Strong knowledge of International Trade operations (Import / Export Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Letters of Credit confirmation, Guarantees/Letters of Credit advising, negotiation, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) publications covering Documentary business and international trade, etc.) will be an advantage.
• Candidate’s Certified Documentary Credit (CDS) qualification will be additional advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Compliance including Sanctions and AML as applicable to international trade.
• Strong knowledge of Citi policies applicable for Trade (Documentary Services – Letter of credit & Guarantee / Export & Import Documentary Operations/Trade Finance/Working Capital finance).
• Knowledge of risk management and / or audit management.
• Ability to map and re-engineer processes for control efficiency.
• Ability to handle/work with massive volumes of data (Good pivots and similar tech. practical skills).
• Extensive experience in process improvement.
• Knowledge of key Citi systems.

• Ability to build working relationships with Regional, Country, Global operations, Technology, Compliance and Product partners.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluent English.
• Ability to work in team environment.

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.

• Interface with senior management in London, EMEA countries.
