As the manager of a team of Content Analysts focused on metadata application and multimedia (audio/text/video) ingestion and quality control processes within the Curators group of ProQuest-a part of Clarivate-you will be responsible for staff management and development and you will collaborate with a team of academic content professionals to complete media ingestion, bibliographic and descriptive metadata application for curated content databases in the academic and K-12 markets. You will also have responsibilities related to quality assurance and customer-support tasks within our product portfolio. Must Have Skills: Strong people management skills, ability to thrive in a matrix management organization Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, project management skills and familiarity with Agile methodologies Demonstrable ability to thrive in a growing and changing environment, through flexibility, creativity, and a positive attitude Familiarity of HTML, SGML, XML and manipulating content schemas for a variety of media formats the ability to leverage scripting languages and command-line interfaces to support import of content sets Knowledge of controlled vocabularies and demonstrable familiarity and/or expertise with one or more academic subjects such as literature, the performing arts, the social sciences, and/or world history Knowledge and experience with quality assurance, editorial processes and methodologies, including JIRA tickets Preferred skills: Knowledge of or experience with library science concepts such as cataloging and subject classifications Knowledge of common library metadata standards and subject classifications Knowledge of Ruby, Perl, Putty, VBA, Regex and ability to train others in their use Effective communication skills in a global environment Responsibilities: Hiring and training team of Content Analysts Planning work of the team in collaboration with other content leaders to achieve strategic goals and meet product expectations, ensure content updates are completed in a timely and accurate manner while meeting both throughput and quality targets Monitoring direct reports’ performance against production standards and creating metrics for measurements of success at both individual and departmental levels Identify and report problems that may affect your team’s ability to meet these targets demonstrate responsiveness to feedback and ability to collaborate on efforts to improve workflows where necessary to ensure targets are met and ultimately exceeded Provide input to estimates on throughput targets, creating project plans as required to scope and manage content updates Support other Curation staff be able to explain the team’s indexing tools and processes when asked Create, edit, and update project-related documentation Fulfill other assignments as needed within the above skillset This role would manage a team of about 10-12 Content Analysts focusing on media ingestion, metadata application, and quality control processes for a portfolio of academic and K-12 educational products. As the leader you should expect to spend a third of your time engaged in management of the team and its work, and two thirds of your time working to improve media ingestion, metadata application and quality control processes in this department.
