Job Summary: Responsible for writing and editing product related documentation. Work closely with the Development and QA teams to design, develop, and verify the documentation
Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, English, Journalism or equivalent
Skills Required:
Excellent written and verbal English language skills
Proficiency in Oxygen, Madcap flare, and graphic tools such as Visio and SnagIT
Experience of writing API docs, especially Java and Javascript
Very technical with some development experience
Familiarity with video creation tools like Camtasia or Captivate would be desirable
Should be a quick learner, self-driven, independent, and highly motivated
Should be well organized, meticulous, and detail-oriented
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with a strong emphasis on quality
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text
Good analytical and multi-tasking skills
Should be able to adapt to changing requirements and handle deadlines
Job Profile:
Respond to queries and ask right questions
Write and update existing or new product manuals
Work with Development, Quality Assurance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure technical accuracy in the manuals
Demonstrate excellent communication skills in interaction with various teams
Read and analyze functional specifications or other technical documents to interpret overall functionality and product intricacies
Work extensively on the product to gain an understanding of the technical details
Mentor and guide team members for tools, processes, or product
Help test new tools, technologies, and processes
Maintain and update templates and internal process documents
Handle multiple products and manuals simultaneously; should be able to manage time and tasks effectively
Work independently through all stages of the Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC)
Contribute to the user interface design and content.
