The Team

Global Traffic & Trade Compliance (GTTC) is part of the Operations organization at Cognex. With teams in USA, Mexico, Ireland, Korea, Japan, and China; GTTC defines and manages the processes & information necessary to yield best in class quality, delivery & cost for our companywide logistics requirements.

The role

Reporting to the Director of Global Inventory, the Traffic & Trade Supervisor closely with the Supply, Distribution & Quality teams in Cork and our other international locations. The purpose of this role is to be the day-to-day lead in all operational, traffic, and trade-related matters in India. The ideal candidate will be a team player and solution focused.

Essential Functions

• Hire for and staff India distribution center
• Documentation and setup of critical processes for India distribution center
• Support successful Go Live for the India distribution center
• Direct distribution center operation to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives.
• Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
• Recommend optimal freight transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
• Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, or training or safety records.
• Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
• Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Detail-oriented with a very high level of accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with all levels of the organization and customers.
• Computer-savvy, preferably with a working knowledge of logistics software, SAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
• Good analytical skills with the ability to present analysis of data.

Minimum education and work experience required

• Minimum 10 years relevant operational experience in traffic or logistics
• India-specific import and domestic traffic/logistics experience is critical
• BS/BA in business administration, supply chain management or relevant field preferred
