The Experience

What role will you play as a member of the Colgate’s Team for this position? The candidate is a subject matter expert and responsible for design, development and implementation of various applications in the area of architecting and deploying analytics application pipelines and provide support. The person will be required to collaborate with business teams / functional teams and IT counterparts for daily support incidents and project activities in different business areas across all geographies.

Responsibilities

The person should have the ability to understand the requirements related to business problems and transform that into a solution design.
Architect –

• Understand and apply information technology standards to daily support and project implementation activities
• Apply conceptual knowledge of business processes and technology to tackle highly complex business processes and procedural problems
• Manage and/or perform the design, build and testing of business applications and its architecture in line with agreed time frames, business requirements and global standards
• Maintain production systems reliability through correct utilization of GIT standard support and governance processes
• Support day to day business requirements according to global SLA
• Deliver solutions to tackle business requirements considering priorities and resources availability

Connect the dots –

• Ensure the proper use of information technology project management methodology to comply of information technology governance practices
• Ensure proper documentation of processes, knowledge acquisitions and transfers
• Review program codes and suggest correction in case of any errors
• Conduct performance tuning to improve system performance over multiple business processes

Collaborator –

• Collaborate with business and functional teams, develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing and implementation phases of project

Mentor / Coach –

• Handle / guide members to implement multi-functional projects / initiatives using project management standards
• Mentor and coach junior resources

Innovator –

• Stay updated with the latest technological advancement. Adapt to these changes by self-training and research work and evaluate how / where it can add value to the business

Requirement

• We are looking for a candidate with 8+ years of experience
• Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
• Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and see opportunities for improvement.
• Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
• A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
• Experience supporting and working with multi-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Should also have experience using the following software/tools:

• Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Neo4j, etc
• Experience with cloud services: GCP, AWS, etc
• Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, etc.
• Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
• Experience with Data Flow, Data Pipeline and workflow management tools: Cloud Composer, Airflow, Luigi, etc.
• Knowledge on SAP technical architecture is preferred
• Knowledge on Database, Server and Operating Systems
• Knowledge on SAP Cloud Platform, SAP API, Python, Google Cloud Platform
• Knowledge on new dimensional technologies like Machine Learning, RPA, Data Science
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems logically
• Ability to solve and identify root cause
• Should be flexible and adaptable to new technologies

Preferred

• Demonstrate good experience in architecting Analytics Applications in GCP and various services like Google Compute, BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Google Kubernetes Engine
• Experience in RDBMS (Postgres, Oracle, MySQL) database and tuning SQL queries
• Must have had experience in building and deploying CI/CD pipelines for application life cycle management
• Visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, etc.
• Solid Understanding of SAP applications SAP BW, FI, SD, MM
