General Manager Supply Chain Management

Location: Mumbai
Reporting Relationship: Chief Executive Officer
Company Background: Our client is an Indian multinational conglomerate with diversified business verticals across the globe.
Responsibilities:

• The incumbent will lead and direct all facets of supply chain management such as procurement, operations and planning, warehouse and stores, logistics, material management for the business.
• Create and implement a supply chain strategy that is synchronized with business strategies and metrics
• Implement standard operating procedures and integrate planning with Sales & Production.
• Organizing the movement of goods from distribution centers to customers and stores involving forecasting trends and managing inventories.
• Ensure timely procurement of raw material from identified sources and develop and implement key procurement strategies which includes contingency plans, alternate sourcing avenues
• Liaise with various cooperative societies, farmers, farmers self-help groups etc. and build healthy relations for smooth operations
• Manage warehousing facilities for raw materials and improve infrastructure and efficiency as per latest standards while ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and internal quality /safety standards.
• Manage inventory; track / monitor inventory & its storage, minimize the risks that could affect or interrupt the supply chain
• Ensure Logistics costs are as per budget & drive cost saving measures through innovation, process validation and reducing inventory variance
• Actively lead continuous improvement activities increasing efficiency within the organization.
• Responsible for development of both inward and outward logistics with material management
• Driving end-to-end logistics including packaging, size to determine volumetric weight for transportation planning with an added experience of commercial & compliance viz. GST, customs duty.
• Manage both hinterland and cross border movement; an understanding & handling of multiple SKU’s covering B2B & B2C like set ups
• Recruiting, mentoring & training team members to deliver desired results in alignment with organization objectives.

Candidate Profile:

• Graduate with preferably a post-graduation degree in Supply Chain Management with 12+ years of experience
• Should be tech savvy, with non-conservative approach towards business.
• Exposure of procuring agricultural commodities especially perishable goods
• Strong understanding of agribusiness industry
• Ability to be pro-active, driven and self-motivated
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure and handle dynamic situations in a start-up environment
• Apt at Material planning, vendor management and techno-commercial negotiations.
• Knowledge of domestic and supply chain strategies, processes, and functions needed to support smooth supply chain operations.
• Ability to collaborate and liaise with local governments (gram panchayat, sarpanchs and other similar bodies.
• Proven track record in increasing the efficiency of the entire supply chain by implementing out of box alternatives.
