We are working with a local municipality located in the Gippsland region, in eastern Victoria who is looking for an Audit; Risk & Compliance Coordinator to provide strategic high-level leadership and advice to executive, other organisational stakeholders and Audit and Risk Committee in relation to the program of work across compliance, risk, business continuity, insurance and information management..
Reporting to the Manager of Governance & leading a team of 3 this role sits as part of the Regional City Strategy & Transition team and primary objectives include:
Coordinate and ensure the effective and efficient delivery of projects and business activities within the unit and in collaboration with other business units.
Foster a culture of excellence in customer service and continuous improvement to more effectively deploy resources, meet changing circumstances and improve service delivery to both internal and external clients.
Provide high-level people and thought leadership to support the performance of a small but critical team within the department.
Guide the effective operation of the Audit and Risk Committee to ensure the internal audit program is carried out efficiently and effectively and the Committee members and management are supported in their audit related responsibilities.
Maintain the risk management framework and build accountabilities for risk management across the organisation in accordance with the relevant standard.
Ensure continual improvement is achieved through ongoing review and improvement of business processes within area of responsibility.

Relevant tertiary qualifications
Excellent advisory and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
Proven commitment to delivering high-quality customer service to external and internal customers.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders for the Executive, Council and Committees.
Previous experience in a local government setting or knowledge and understanding of local government would be considered advantageous
