Who We Are Launched in 2018, DayToDay Health is an MIT Startup and now a Babylon group company, with a bold vision for the future of healthcare. We focus on acute, post-surgical and out-of-hospital care, and we are the first company to provide end-to-end acute care services globally. We address two critical challenges in healthcare in particular: accessibility and clinical outcomes. With accessibility, we are delivering well-researched, digitally enabled patient protocols and pathways to patients and families across the globe. Patients can access our holistic virtual care services conveniently from their mobile device, which allows us to provide superior care continuity. In many cases, we are the only support patients have before and after their procedures when patients are at home. To improve clinical outcomes, we are bridging the communication gap between clinicians and patients. Currently, managing patient care adequately across the entire journey remains a challenge. 80% of clinician instructions are forgotten immediately when a patient leaves the hospital. Of what patients do remember, 50% is misremembered, causing further anxiety, confusion and longer recoveries. We enable clinicians to engage patients throughout the entire care journey. • Team Leadership : Build and lead a team of exceptional engineers adept at handling large scale data across multiple platforms.
• Technical Vision :
  • Re-evaluate architecture choices on an ongoing basis, in anticipation of increased scale and ever-evolving technology to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business.
  • Help engineers to arrive at good designs by asking questions and working with other senior engineers in the engineering organization.
• Leverage technical skills to successfully drive infrastructure & tool improvements for new products and existing processes and workflows.
• Serve as the team’s Scrum Leader , breaking down roadblocks as well as managing communications with stakeholders and dependent teams. Create a culture of continuous improvement through retrospection.
• Work with senior engineers to ensure best practices around code quality, testing and documentation are developed and followed.
• Monitor team KPIs to assess and optimize performance.

• Create and track quarterly team OKRs and review OKR progress with your direct reports.
• Lead framework and architectural decisions that align with the technology and business objectives in collaboration with the team
• Work with other engineering managers and leadership team to continually evolve our software development process to best meet our business objectives.
• Contribute towards a team culture that supports the professional growth of your direct reports.
• Make buy-vs-build decisions in collaboration with other engineering leaders.
• Ensure that the team fulfills our security, data privacy and compliance requirements.
• Provide praise and critical feedback to direct reports regularly, including through one on ones.
• Provide regular written status updates to stakeholders

Requirements Who We Want

• You have overall 8+ years of technology experience including 2+ years of managing a team of software engineers.
• You have previous hands-on experience as a software engineer in B2C or B2B backend development
• You have good experience in Microservice architecture, API, Java, Spring Boot, SQL and NoSQL ( MongoDB ), Kotlin, AWS infra (IAM, Cognito, Cloudwatch, Cloudfront, EKS, EC2, S3 etc)
• Good knowledge in database designing principles and experience in building highly scalable systems with low latency.
• Experience working on Digital health products is a plus.
• You are comfortable working with various stakeholders to finalize the requirements, take technical decisions, and remove obstacles for the team to achieve their goals.
• Experience in the agile development process , continuous integration and test automation is good to have.
