What you’ll achieve As a Business Operations Advisor, you will collaborate with our customers to define business requirements while providing solutions and tools that strengthen business processes. You will define objectives based on end-user needs and identify the organization’s strengths, finding ways to maximize opportunities and improve business processes. This role within the Systems Control Group (SCG) in Dell Technologies Corporate Finance organization involves leveraging both finance and systems process skills to support global users in their use of Dell Technologies key financial applications. The successful candidate will be part of a global team providing business support to end-users and driving systems assurance activities across a range of systems; mainly Oracle EBS (Novora, Omega, Virtual Trader..etc). The role will require liaison with business and IT stakeholders, as well as coordinating with team members in Europe, Americas and Asia.
You will: This individual will be acting as a functional subject matter expert whose responsibilities include ensuring the integrity of data both within and exchanged between systems, supporting user issues and queries through the ServiceNow ITSM system, and assisting financial period close activities as well as IT release deployments. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong experience of working with Finance AR or Accounting systems, combined with a good technical skillset. The role requires both strong individual contribution as well the ability to work effectively with remote team members. The role requires significant interaction with multiple global groups across a range of functions, and the successful candidate will require strong communication skills, with the ability to understand and document requirements, issues and related resolutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks amongst others:

• Act as SME/Advisor to the team and stakeholders on all Finance, Accounting, AR aspects
• Drive and lead business discussions around accounting issues and topics
• General business support and administration in managing users and configuration elements in the tools
• Acting as a point of escalation from expert users to help solve business problems in using the tools
• Provide timely support to users having application issues
• Support global processes and setups, working as the liaison between users and IT as may be necessary
• Participate in month-end close activities that may require occasional weekend working
• Work with global business teams to understand business processes
• Work with IT/project teams where appropriate to coordinate testing and deployment of changes, application improvements, and efficiencies
• Address moderately complex issues within the application
• Fully understand the application designs, business rules, and monthly processes
• Generate and implement improvements related to system processes.
• Support other operational activities within SCG as required

Essential Requirements

• Excellent communication skills in English both written and spoken
• Bachelor’s degree required with around 5-7 years of work experience, of which 1-2 years of relevant experience in Finance/Accounting or AR.
• Good understanding of most basic accounting principles, concepts, theories, technologies and standards of the professional field.
• Knowledge and understanding of Dell Technologies accounting processes
• Ability to respond to occasional off-hour regional support issues
• Relevant experience of financial applications
• Experience of training and deployment of new software tools in a corporate environment
• Good interpersonal skills and experience in handling user support or problem resolution in a customer facing environment

Desirable Requirements

• Any ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA or other accounting certifications will be a plus!
• Strong drive for results and ability to deal effectively
• Strong individual contribution and effective teamwork
• Ability to take responsibility for task completion
