Job Title – Microsoft Office Apps Engineer

Location – Pune

Role Description

As Part of the End User Computing, the EPC team are accountable for designing, building, testing, and implementing the banks Productivity and Collaboration products like MS Office applications, Collaboration platform (On Premise SharePoint, Office 365 products), Digital Signature Platform (DocuSign) and Virtual Data Rooms (Intralinks and Debt Domain).

The team works closely with the other platform towers, such as mobility, desktop, voice systems, email, collaboration, unified communications, and audio visual.

We are looking for a Microsoft Office applications (Office 2013, 2016, MS 365 Apps for Enterprise) engineer who will define and design application settings, group policies. You are expected to have good understanding of Microsoft Office Customization Tool, Office Deployment Tool, MS365 Apps Admin Center Console, Office Cloud Policy Service, familiarity with various reports generated using Admin Portal.

You are expected to create the package the Office application, monthly patches using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), provide technical direction wherever required and deliver business requirements.

You are required to evaluate vendor release, roadmaps, new versions of Office applications. Identify, analyze issues and work with vendor for resolution. Wherever possible resolution of issues and conflicts, introduce proactive improvements and automation within the environment, act as escalation point for service operation team for content management related products.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and document the engineering work required for implementing Microsoft Office Click-To-Run applications.
• Define and document standard processes, engineering methodologies and best practices for Microsoft Office applications.
• Work with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and project managers to discuss requirements and timelines.
• Be a part of engineering team to develop technical documents and drive the security and design approvals.
• Document and track risks, issues and dependencies in project RAID log and ensure they are actioned accordingly.
• Participate and work as required towards MS 365 roadmap and private previews.
• Work with Microsoft on support tickets.
• Major Incident Management and maintain effective communications with stakeholders, operations team during downtime events. Assist with resolution efforts and perform root cause analysis as needed on major incidents.
• Actively support achievement of Bank’s/Division’s strategy, plans, and ensure that they maintain a clear understanding and ongoing alignment of activities with the organization’s priorities.
• Demonstrate personal commitment to the Bank’s values and adheres to Bank Policies and Procedures.

Your Skills And Experience

• Good hands-on experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Office 2013, Office 2016, MS 365 Apps for Enterprise.
• Hands-on expertise in upgrading from one version to next version of Office applications.
• Hands on experience on Office Customization tool, Office deployment tool, MS 365 Apps admin center, Office Cloud Policy Service.
• Good Experience in generating & interpreting various reports from Microsoft Office 365 admin console.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies management tools.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud platform specifically around Azure AD & licenses management etc.
• Packaging experience using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
• Strong knowledge of PowerShell Scripting.
• Good experience in managing Office suite of applications on other platforms such as Apple Mac, iOS & Google Android.

Good to have skills :

• Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex issues.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Understanding of application packaging technologies used in corporate environments including .MSI
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Client Operating systems such as Windows 7 & Windows 10.
• Working knowledge of Agile and SDLC tools like JIRA, Bit Bucket, Artifactory etc.

Education/Certification :

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant discipline (E.g., Computer Science, Engineering).
• The Candidate should have minimum of 8 years of experience on Microsoft Office suite of applications at an enterprise level.
• Certifications: Any cloud certification is preferred.
