The Job

Logistics centres on the movement of goods, but its effects extend much further. In every business, success in logistics translates to increased efficiencies, lower costs, higher production rates, better inventory control, smarter use of warehouse space, increased customer and supplier satisfaction, and an improved customer experience.The very essence of a business is to exchange goods or services for money or trade. Logistics is the path those goods and services take to complete the transactions.

The Role

• Understanding and implementing imports and exports regulations (preferably Europe and UK).
• Coordination with the procurement department for any information and documents required for import & export.
• Coordination with suppliers for booking shipments documents of upcoming shipments & correction in documents if any.
• Deciding the HS codes for different products and types.
• Checking and approving of documents based on the product category at pre shipment stage.
• Custom clearance of goods imported, coordination with Local Authorities & handling Customs process.
• Maintaining delivery schedule for import shipments with Warehouse.
• Generating & maintaining import documents (Internal as well as external).
• Advance arrangement for high value duty payments.
• Warehouse delivery appointments and planning delivery accordingly.
• Arrangement of local transportation and coordination with them from pick up of cargo till delivery.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate logs of all transportation and goods.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field
• Minimum 2 years experience in a logistics management role
• Proven track record of reducing costs and improving efficiency in a logistics operation
• In-depth knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS)
• Expertise in developing and implementing logistics strategies
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
