Upskill yourself by leading technical proposals ,learning new design methodologies, solve complex engineering problems, build manufacturing know how & interaction with cross functional teams (CFT) in a matrix organization while delivering on exciting & meaningful business goals as Program Lead.
• Provide technical leadership and expertise on Electrically Driven Air Compressor system in Fuel Cell domain for Automobile as well Industrial application. Determine, invent, and execute methods for system-level analysis & optimization for value proposition on critical air compressor requirements which include flow, pressure ratio, Air quality, Durability & Noise. Knowledge of latest trends in Fuel Cell Air Loop and specifically air compressor architectures, regional anatomy, specific limitations in line with end applications. Connect with industry and customers to draw up interpretations and experimental approaches to find niche value propositions for EATON solutions in a fuel cell market. Work as engineering technical lead for identified NPI program for Fuel Cell Air Compressors.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand market & customer needs in Fuel Cell space, specifically in Air loop products for Eaton Vehicle Group
• Compare various architectures of the Air loop/Air compressors from open sources and portray the value proposition of Eaton product Vs competition.
• Determine the innovative ways to meet customer requirements which include Flow, Pressure Ratio, Noise, Air Quality, and Durability. Define technical proposal / Concepts based on new RFI’s & RFQ from different regional customers’ requirements
• Lead the advanced programs on the novel electrical motor is driven Air compressor systems for Fuel Cell application in Automobiles & Industrial applications
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes product engineers, Modeling & Simulation, Manufacturing to define the concept design and take it forward towards launch thru CV, DV, PV phases.
• Work with suppliers and engineering & commercial teams to select appropriate options based on SOR/Engineering evaluation /Validation for Electric Motor -Controllers, NVH Treatments, Seals, Bearings, etc.
• Conduct design reviews, present technical studies and findings to Chief Engineer, Engineering Managers and Product strategy
• Execute tech/capability roadmaps for Air Compressor in close cooperation with Chief Engineers & business unit feedbacks
• Network with industry through various forums and technical conferences to promote EATON solutions for the fuel cell domain.
• Need to have ‘Go Beyond mindset’ to win new business based of innovative solutions in Air loop domain in Ful Cell focus areas.
• Strong understanding of DFSS (Design for Six Sigma), DFR (Design for reliability) & Product development Life Cycle
• Strong presentation, communication & leadership skills needed to drive the technical decision /conclusions
• Experience on an electric motor, CAN controller & global working exposure will be added advantages.

Qualifications

• Requirement:
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering
• 8 – 12 years of experience in new technology / new product introduction
• In-depth experience in Air Compressor OR Air handling System Design in Fuel Cell or ICE domain. Excellent understanding of Strength of Material, Fluid Dynamics & Thermal Engineering
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
• Team player with highly effective interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Business acumen, Drive for results
• Ability to operate with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a hands-on laboratory environment
