The Indian EdTech industry was valued at US$ 750 million in 2020 and is expected to reach US$ 30 billion in the next 10 years. The growth spurt in this industry is driven largely by K-12 Segment, higher education, and upskilling categories

The Indian EdTech industry is expected to be more policy friendly in the upcoming years due to rising government interest. The National Education Policy 2020 emphasised the importance of leveraging technology in education solutions and supported creation of leaning content in regional languages, calling it a high priority.

CONTEXT OF THE ROLE:

Edufront is an Ed Tech start-up soaring to scale new heights expanding and gaining market by aggressive strategies and creating value throughout the value chain.

The individual contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks, overseeing accounting, implementing and exerting budgetary controls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Budgeting

• Prepare the Annual Business Plan basis organization strategy
• Put systems in place that ensures all department expenses are within budget
• Required to create SOP for department and various templates for accounting along with key metrics for management decision making and to measure performance
• Plan, Implement, Coordinates and Control the budgets to achieve the Annual Business Plan & suggests corrective actions to the CFO / COO / CEO or CA firm in the event of Variances.
• Business plan/ Budget preparation & Comparisons (Monthly)

Accounting Financial Planning and Implementation

• Functional areas would include Accounts, finance, Taxation, Legal, Audit, Company Secretary, Treasury Management
• Month End Financials like Balance Sheets, Profit & loss A/c as per Indian GAAP
• SOX and Internal controls
• Capital Budgeting and Fixed Assets Accounting
• Direct & Indirect Taxation
• Provide strategic inputs to management including maintenance of management reporting formats and tracking (Corporate Finance).
• Review and adapt Company’s credit policy.
• Prepare MIS for management review. Diligently, Accurately and Timely always in various formats as required.
• Suggest software for accounting purposes and implementation thereof.

WOC Management

• Monitors the liquidity and suggests measures in case of variances to the Management
• Assists sales / business development teams to ensure collection of all customer over dues.
• Follow up and ensure funds are available at all times.

Statutory Compliances.

• Work with Legal team and ensure legal compliance related to financial matters
• Interact with statutory and internal auditors.
• Ensures the timely preparations and audits year end statements as IAS per extant laws & regulations.
• Develops suggestions for tax planning to maximize returns.
• Ensures compliance to all financial and non-financial statutory regulations. Especially IT, GST and PF etc.
• Must have expertise in E- filing of all challans and returns.
• Fixed Assets and Insurance Management
• Ensures proper accounting of company’s fixed assets including depreciation.
• Advise the CFO on financial implications of replacement/addition of fixed assets.
• Identifies insurance requirements for the company.
• Ensures Company’s assets both IT and Non IT are suitably covered by insurance in agreement with GM Finance.

Secretarial Function

• Conducting and keeping up to date records of Board meetings as required by Law.
• Ensure compliance to all other statutory requirements under Company’s Act.
• Require to prepare Presentations/Reviews etc. for all Board Meetings and Group presentations and reviews.

People Management

• To train, guide and coach all employees in AOP, Budgets and Financial Policies
• Ensure work discipline and impart company culture, vision and values in all employees.
• Push employees to submit expense statements timely.
• Responsible to develop a cost conscious, ethical, goal/result-oriented work force.

Reporting’s

• Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly reviews
• Other MIS reports as required.
• Various reports and analyses.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• MCom or CA Inter
• 3 years’+ experience in accounts departments.
• Preference will be given to those who have handled department independently or was part of a start-up o
• Good English and Hindi / Regional communication skills
• Tech Savvy. Hand on experience in Tally or any finance software.

· Negotiable

Salary: ₹500,000.00 – ₹1,000,000.00 per year
