What you will do

Should have thorough hands-on knowledge on installing, administering and troubleshooting RHEL 5.x, 6.x & 7.x and Solaris 9, 10 & 11 OS.
Hands-on building and supporting physical and virtual servers (VMware).
Strong skill sets on Symantec/Veritas Enterprise Suite (vxfs, vxvm, vcs) management, and environment integration.
Hands-on experience with the complete patch management lifecycle including testing, deploying, troubleshooting missing patches and patch issues, etc. utilizing the change management process and patch management and automation tools necessary to ensure compliance and successful audits.
Desired skill set on LDOM, Virtualization technologies.
Remote administration using consoles like DRAC, SP, SC, etc.
Responsible for keeping management up to date on any outstanding production related issues.
Should possess certifications like RHCE (RedHat), SCSA (Solaris), VCP.
Automation of day-to-day jobs using scripting languages like Shell/Perl.
Should have basic understanding of installing and troubleshooting installation related problems for applications like Apache, IIS and databases like MySQL & MS SQL.
Provide training to team on the relevant technical subjects.
Help team in understanding and absorbing new technology. Work with various teams and stakeholder to roll out the same phased manner within given timelines.
As a Lead, drive projects through Jira and ensure we have the updates from team until closure.
Must have very good verbal and written communication skills, should be able to chair and participate in conference calls with international customers
Document and update Manual Operating Procedures (MOPs).
Qualifications
Knowledge of ITIL best practices
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Experience in RHEL, Solaris, CentOS, DHCP, DNS, Ansible.
Have excellent knowledge on Storage – SAN, NAS, Veritas Cluster, Volume Management, BIND DNS, Jira, Confluence.
Desired to have hands on experience in troubleshooting server class hardware mainly with HP C7000 & C3000 Chassis, HP Blade systems, HP Synergy, DELL Blades, etc.
Working in a complex, enterprise environment with multiple, global data centers in collaboration with network, application, and including demonstrated collaboration with middleware teams
Willingness to work in 24/7 environment with rotational shifts.
Requires a minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant experience with an Associates or bachelor’s degree.
