The Data and AI Platform Engineering Group at Expedia is looking for an expert, highly motivated, disciplined ML Engineer who can make an impact in creating a robust and scalable machine learning platform to be leveraged across EG. Our mission is to provide services and solutions that helps Expedia build reliable, cost-transparent, and optimized products and platforms. We work closely with Data Scientists in a fast-paced Agile environment to create and productionize algorithms and ML models that provide various insights to teams in Expedia. he team youd be working on is part of a larger CoE group DAPS (Data, AI, Platform and Systems) serving various brands with in Expedia and helping them with their AI/ML journey by building AI solutions. Currently, team is working on but not limited to Hotwire business problems which has a unique business model (opaque) in comparison to other OTAs which makes the journey even more interesting.It provides a unique opportunity to create innovations and ground-breaking change using cloud, big data and machine learning technologies. You will be able to incubate and experiment newer technologies and platforms to demonstrate value of machine learning and enable data consumptions at scale with agility. • You will work with the engineering teams to evaluate and design resilient, scalable, and highly available solutions for AI & ML platforms.
• Experiment, develop and productionize high quality machine learning services and platforms to make huge technology and business impact.
• Build data pipelines necessary to collect and curate data for training large scale machine learning models.
• Supervise the scaling and management of the machine learning lifecycle/ecosystem.
• Develop AutoML infrastructure for model selection and hyperparameter tuning.
• You will write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, modular in a way that enables efficient and accurate translation into a data pipeline.
• Collaborate with and chip in to open source communities, both internally and externally.
• Stay up to date with the latest data science/ ML / AI technologies and techniques and identifying and advising how they can be utilized throughout the range of potential use cases.
• Mentor, share and make knowledge available inside and outside the team.

Who You Are:

• 6 years of industry experience in data science or data engineering.
• 3 years of hands-on experience building ML models and deploying them to production
• Proficiency in multiple machine learning programming languages including Python, PySpark, or Scala
• Experience working with ML platforms (Databricks, SageMaker, MLFlow, KubeFlow etc.)
• Experience using and designing solutions on cloud infrastructure and services e.g AWS.
• Aptitude to independently learn new technologies and create solutions around them.
• Ability to handle large, complex problems in a rapidly changing environment and rallying the teams to solve it.
• Experience with continuous delivery, automated deployments, and related engineering practices.
• Active participant in technical community, such as blog posts, tech talks, open source contributions or data mining competitions.
• Experience in data processing using technologies like Spark or Spark Streaming is a must.
