Job Description
The User and Endpoint Systems team is comprised of three teams: Global Endpoint Management, Unified Communications, and Collaboration. Together we are responsible for implementing, configuring, securing, and supporting endpoint devices, communication systems, and collaboration technologies.
The position of Systems Administrator for the Unified Communications team is responsible for the management and support of Expeditors’ Exchange, Polycom, and Zoom environments, as well as several other communication and collaboration tools. This position will provide comprehensive support for a globally distributed workforce in over 250 offices that can range from desk-level works to executives. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, possessing sound judgment and excellent problem-solving skills and must be capable of working with both internal customers and external 3rd party service providers and manufacturers. In this fast-paced position the candidate must be organized and be able to prioritize work and issues quickly to affect timely resolutions. Due to the 24x7x365 nature of Expeditors business, issues must be assessed quickly and resolved or escalated to the appropriate support teams. Communicating effectively with a broad range of internal customers whose knowledge levels vary greatly is critical.
Major duties and responsibilities include supporting Exchange, Zoom, Teams (future deployment), Polycom video conference endpoint deployment, and end-user support for all products. Support is delivered to a wide range of individuals that includes novice end users and highly knowledgeable IT workers. In a single day this support may include troubleshooting of email client issues, creation of mailboxes and distribution Groups, and resolution of advanced Zoom Phone problems. Keeping these environments secure and stable is the top priority of the UC team.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
4 – 8 years systems administration or engineering experience in Unified communications and management
Intermediate to advanced experience with Exchange online
Comfortable supporting O365
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills along with great follow-through
Experience supporting desktop conferencing tools, ex- Teams and Zoom
Direct support of end users
Familiarity with M365 products
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
PowerShell scripting
Working knowledge of M365 client products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc)
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Office
Experience supporting Polycom or other standards-based video conference systems
Telecom support (primarily cloud-based phone systems, some on-prem PBX)
Agile/SAFe experience
