The Role

Join us as a Murex Environment Manager and manage applications which are part of Core Trading solutions. This Role is responsible for managing the service delivery aspects of the Murex Environment support (L1/L2/L3) for applications (primarily Treasury management System) which are part of Core Trading solution and the Natwest Markets projects on TMS and other applications in the same eco system. As part of this role you will be expected to perform delivery and supporting the project/L3 activities of significant Business enhancements to critical Bank functions. You will be expected to manage high profile Trading team from NWM and Treasury business.

What the Business does

This role is based in the Core trading area of NWM CDIO. “Core Trading Solutions is a part of RBSs trading provide Trade booking , Trade confirmation , Risk and &PL along with the Risk management functions for the bank.” We take care of trading for RBSs ring-fenced bank

Your Responsibilities:

“As a Environment Manager, your key responsibilities will include:”

• You should be able to multitask in a demanding F2B environment, taking ownership of tasks to completion supporting platform teams located in India and UK.”
• Contribute towards building CICD pipeline and should be able to stretch in the role to the demand of the global team of developers, project managers and should be able to deliver to the project deadlines.
• Management of multiple parallel release making sure the timely availability of environment, management of code per release and its deployment
• Hands on experience with Murex Upgrade/migration on Murex 3.1.4/48 is added advantage
• Deployment in cloud with latest tool set would be an added advantage i.e. exposure to AWS, Jenkins, Team city, knowledge of CI/CD pipeline etc.
• You will be expected to Innovate continuously with Automation of environment related activities, Unix scripting, Jenkins, Teach City
• You will be expected to know the various Infrastructure components around the application Environment, Databases, UNIX, Networking, Storage and should be able to
• engineer solutions working with the Engineering colleagues
• Contribute to the Continuous Improvement of the release process.
• You?ll work on the Murex Batch configuration and Management
• System backup?s w.r.t UNIX and Database.
• Establish and maintain risk assessments to identify and assess the material risks that arise in their area of responsibility.
• Establish a culture of innovation and strategic thinking that translates big picture strategic opportunities into practical objectives.
• Drive continuous improvements of existing processes and procedures in the area of specialist knowledge and across other service management disciplines. Initiate and build tools that would help standardisation of services provided
• Undertake line management responsibilities (where required) in line with Technology policies and processes, including developing skills and knowledge of the team.”
• Build and maintain the capability of team/business unit to ensure levels of service and quality of deliverable meet the needs of the Technology.
• Manage team operations through effective and efficient management of team finances, operational risks and continuous improvement activities.”
• Supports and maintains technology within the budget and headcount targets whilst being fit for purpose

• Establish and document operating procedures which include relevant controls to meet Group and local policy requirements.
• Establish and own a governance structure for identifying and managing risk, and for defining and approving an appropriate Risk Appetite.

The Skills you need

In order to be successful in this role, you must have the following skills & experience:

• A qualification from an Engineering College (B.E. / B.Tech.) , MCA (honours/ 1st class)
• Team Management, Leadership skills, Influencing/Motivation skills
• Should have influencing skills and build relationship with senior stakeholders.
• Experience on Murex, Oracle, JAVA, Sql, Pl Sql , Autosys and Linux
• You are also expected to have knowledge on Cloud platforms and latest RPA tools and should have worked in automating operational processes.
• Knowledge of CMS and agile methodology. Usage of release tools like – Bitbucket, Nexus, HPSA, TeamCity, Jira, Jenkins, ServiceNow, Autosys etc.”
• Sound good knowledge on Murex DataMart, MLC and Murex Mxml exchange architecture.
• Should possess good knowledge on Murex Services and environment.
• Should have good understanding of Murex data model architecture
• Good Knowledge on Unix and Shell scripting, SQL and PL/SQL
• Hands on with the Murex Batch configuration and Management
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent Communication (written and spoken English)
• Willingness to work across shifts and weekends is a requirement for this senior role.
• Exposure to DEVOPS practices.
• Experience and knowledge of Capital Markets is essential
• ITIL knowledge and Foundation certification is a must
• Advanced knowledge of one or more Service Management disciplines such as incident, Problem, Change IT, Continuity or Capacity”
• Relevant industry standard toolsets and processes to drive up customer service within an IT environment
• Should have experience in managing large transformation projects
• Should have experience in setting-up SNOW, Knowledge Management tool
