General Summary Develops the Organizations cloud strategy, which includes cloud adoption plans, cloud application design as well as cloud management and monitoring. Provides support for Analytic application architecture and deployment in cloud environments. Works with enterprise level architects to ensure consistency with overall IT strategy. Contributes to the resolution of highly complex problems. Mentor those in less senior positions.
This position will be responsible to…

• 
  Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)

• Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services

• Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes

• Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications

• Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements

• Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts

• Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems

• Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements

• Deliver proof of concepts/prototypes to support investigation and evaluation opportunities working with Enterprise and International Transportation Systems

• Lead software design, architecture, requirements analysis, and investigation of new technologies for software development, especially in Analytics (Prescriptive, Predictive, Prescriptive)

• Work closely with both IT and business teams to design, develop and implement cross platform, global solutions.

• Work with technical leadership to drive innovation and create best practices within the team.

• Present technical ideas and high-level concepts and solutions to internal and external team members.

• Contribute to a positive culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements where appropriate

• Coach and mentor to team members and technical staff on their assigned project tasks.

Skills & Experience
Minimum Qualifications

• Master Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 12 years of relevant experience.

• Must have six (5) years of experience designing, executing and supporting IT cloud solutions.

• Experience must include working with Azure/Google/OCI/AWS

• Expertise with provisioning with Ansible, Terraform, or other automation products

• Experience with cloud database platform offerings, SQL & NoSQL databases

• Excellent analytical / problem solving

• Able to work as a team and individually

• Experience with Spring, XML, JSON, JMS, Linux operating systems, and relational databases

• Web Services: SOA, add RESTful , WDSL, XML, XSLT, XQuery

• Knowledge and experience using one or more of the following tools/technologies/processes

• Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Unix/Linux scripting, DevOps, CI/CD tooling and process experience, PaaS, IaaS, SaaS

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, work instructions, process maps and/or governmental regulations

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of internal and external customers
