What does a successful Appian Architect do at Fiserv?

We are in search of a dynamic and experienced Software Solutions Architect with expertise in low code platforms of development to join our team. The Software Solutions Architect will play a crucial role in formulating and executing system designs that satisfy our business needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software design, architecture design, and data design, alongside demonstrated experience in a software product organization. Experience in low code platforms of development will be a significant plus.

What you will do

Creates a vision and solution architecture for the product, designing for extensibility, and the optimal technical approach suitable for solving the targeted use cases.

Lead architectural reviews and present solutions and recommendations to stakeholders.

Designs the solution for non-functional goals: modularity, extensibility, configurability.

Design and optimize databases to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and stability of our systems.

Architecting and building complex multi-tiered applications using Appian platform

Identify technical constraints, dependencies, and misalignment to engineering effectiveness and lead initiatives to address them.

Lead the creation of data, process, function models, awareness of software design and modeling approaches.

Perform code reviews which provide feedback not only on code quality, but on design and implementation.

Seek to identify opportunities for code refactoring and performance optimization on a regular basis and champion these efforts within the team.

Be a final decision-maker for debated technical choices.

Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure our software solutions are in alignment with the company’s goals and strategies.

Participate in every phase of software development, ensuring successful application deployment.

Mentor & share advanced/expert knowledge and best practices with others in the department, both on and off team; maintain a reputation as a key resource in those areas.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, ensuring our software solutions utilize modern practices.

What you will need to have

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

15-20 years of experience in development of enterprise-level applications using an object-oriented technology stack and low code platform

5+ years of experience as a Appian Lead Developer/Architect in developing enterprise applications using Appian platform.

Proven experience as a Software Solutions Architect in a software product organization.

Extensive experience in modern software design, architecture design, and data design.

Expertise in developing 3-tier applications, MVC architectures, and both low-code and J2EE/.NET applications.

Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipeline tools like Jenkins.

Proficient understanding of multiple programming languages and databases.
