Program Manager – Advanced Technology Development in Manufacturing.

Roles and responsibilities:

1. Managing the existing projects at FSID/SID

• Commercial Interaction with industry partners
• Drafting MoU
• Negotiation
• Closure and Signing of the MoU
• Payments
• Other commercial interactions

1. Aligning the industry partners towards the end objectives of the project
2. Creating road map for Transfer of the Technology and working with industry partners for commercialization
3. Monitoring the project timeline, risks and mitigating the risks
4. Liaison with various departments and government officials primarily for program status updates, reports and project fund management
5. Working with various stake holders – IISc faculty, FSID project execution staff, MHI, Industry partners and Review committees

Creating road map for future advanced manufacturing activities at FSID-IISc

1. Organizing the workshops with industry partners and understanding the technology needs of MSME, MNCs and Large companies in India, for future needs or gaps in existing processes (particularly in advanced manufacturing activities)
2. Creating technology road map and technologies to be developed for Indian and global industries
3. Identifying various technology experts in IISc and creating an interdepartmental consortium for executing any new projects
4. Creating road map for enhancing the royalty income for FSID-IISc
5. Create a name and brand in the field of R&D for manufacturing for FSID and IISc. Dedicated marketing activities to be done for the same
6. Working with multiple ministries for understanding the future programs and submitting new proposals in advanced manufacturing and other technology related fields.
7. Liasion with Government to define new programs, as technology experts, where inputs are sought from IISc.
8. Thinking out of box for development of technology advancements acquired through these projects to take it to a different scale (National / International) – e.g. creation of ‘advance center for fusion energy’
