What is the Supervisor – IO Process Training responsible for?

• Supervises a team of professional employees to achieve objectives and requirements of own team and/or workgroup.
• Responsible for setting priorities for the team to ensure task completion and monitors compliance with procedures, policies and standards. Engages team, develops direct reports and advocates for staff development needs. Provides task- or procedure-specific expertise. Partners with internal and external clients and/or service providers on business challenges and solutions.
• This position will report into an IO Manager

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Supervisor – IO Process Training?

• This family of job responsible to direct or conduct one or more Investment Operations professional employees and/or skilled, business functions such as security reference data, pricing, and corporate actions. Supports investment management and how teams work together to support our clients; solve business and data problems and contribute to Operations and Clients. Acts as advisor to team/workgroup and may become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems. Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and department plan; receives guidance from manager
  • Production & Delivery (30%): Getting the work done through people Supervises day-to-day activities for a team of individual contributors. Actual work done Supervises daily workflows and is accountable for delivery of work assigned to agreed service levels. Provides input to routine and exceptional decisions regarding processes/systems issues, utilizing depth of knowledge/technical expertise to provide guidance and direction to teams. Escalates when manager input required. Works with team, under direction of leadership, to identify opportunities for and potential barriers to process and/or product improvement within area of accountability, and may make recommendations accordingly. May lead department-level projects. (Required)
  • Process Training (30%): The trainer will be responsible for evaluating IO training needs and current practices and creating and delivering a cross functional training development plan with materials, tutorials, instructions, and learning resources such as online modules and guides. The ideal candidate will be a confident public speaker and a devoted educator who is up-to-date on the latest tools and resources needed to improve employee training and performance. The trainer will also be responsible for researching and selecting the best platform to deliver and utilize training materials.
  • People (10%): Hiring Leads and provides recommendations on the hiring and termination of internal and external individual contributors. Diversity and Inclusion Support awareness of diversity and inclusion across team. Team Development and Performance Appraisal Provides ongoing feedback to support staff development and performance. Works with manager to identify high potential and top performing staff and makes plans to stretch/develop these individuals further. Compensation Staffing Strategy Provide inputs to Managers on evolving needs of the job and talent acquisition needs. (Required)
  • Risk Management and Control Assessment (30%): Lead efforts to analyze risk trends, error root causes and controls gaps through analysis of monthly MOR and discussion with IO management team. Coordinate discussions across business units to assess opportunities for improvement. Identify scope and priority of control enhancement initiatives & ensure implementation to reduce errors to future process outputs. Eliminate roadblocks for implementation and ensure project timelines are met through monitoring and oversight of project.
• Perform in-depth control reviews of IO operational processes. Produce thorough analysis of control gaps and weaknesses and propose workflows to reduce the likelihood of error reoccurrence. Ensure modified processes are implemented in a timeframe consistent with the IO management’s expectation. Perform testing of controls post-implementation to ensure modifications met expected results.
• Review business unit policies, procedures and checklists and ensure they are consistent across global sites.
• Create IO business unit risk assessment models. Determine which risks are key through review of IO Monthly Metrics Reporting, incident memos, and discussion with upper management. Identify initiatives that will reduce the business unit risk and ensure implementation of initiatives within mutually agreed timelines.
• Proactively seek industry and risk/control knowledge through periodicals, webinars, and conferences.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

• Risk Management or auditing experience is strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment with limited supervision
• Ability to interact with management and demonstrate the skills to manage expectations, perceptions, and outcomes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic organization
• Solid analytical and project management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of business desktop applications (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Visio)
• Ability to partner with management in FTS and across FRI
• Acts as liaison between QARC team and IO leadership concerning QARC activities.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
• Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead
• Master’s Degree or equivalent experience (Preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (Required)
• Requires solid working knowledge of business management skills. Typically requires the equivalent of 2+ years of management experience either directly managing employees or acting as a senior team member and resource leader in a team management setting (Required)
• Two (2) years’ previous experience as a trainer, corporate training, or related position (preferred)

Licenses and Certifications:

• Working knowledge of automation tools (Preferred)
• Certification from talent and training associations a plus
• Chartered Accountants – CA Inter (Preferred)
• Chartered Accountant – ACCA (Preferred)
