Inviting applications for the role of Accountant

Responsibilities:

• This role is responsible for performing all accounting & tax operations related activities like daily/monthly accounting & reconciliations, payment processing, Invoice generation, tax fillings and financial reporting for various commercial lending clients
• To work with all other groups within the organization (i.e. New Accounts, Insurance & Collateral Administration, Information Technology, and other voice operations) to ensure all residual lease transactions and other financial / non-financial adjustments are property accounted for and in the correct periods
• The position will also be responsible for client interactions on a frequently basis to understand issues and gaps and to provide resolution in timely manner
• Work closely with internal and external auditors regarding the Company’s accounting for leases, including acquisitions and dispositions and to provide relevant audit support within required timelines
• To perform ad-hoc projects and analysis to help support certain decisions, issues, and to assist in other group’s goals and tasks
• Documentation of current / future state processes

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

• B. Com.
• College Degree in Accounting or Finance

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior accounting and/or banking experience. Experience with commercial loan and lease accounting or operations
• General knowledge of related Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS especially ASC 840, 842, 606 and FAS 91
• Knowledge of Internal Revenue Code: To analyze and account for new leases, lease amendments, renewals, and other lease modifications in accordance with US GAAP
• Servicing and or portfolio reporting experience on commercial lease and or loan portfolios
• Proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint
• Advanced e-mail writing and computer skills
• Ability to stretch especially during month / quarter end
• Six-Sigma and Lean certifications
