Job Summary

This position will be a critical business partner. This includes among other things, responsibility for financial metrics, reporting, relevant operational metrics, forecasting and analysis. The successful candidate will be a strategic thought partner with a focus on analytics and providing data driven business and financial / operational insights to the relevant stakeholders that will enable sound decision making.

Job Description

• Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s Degree- Business, Finance, Quantitative fields of study
• 5+ years of experience in a finance / analytical role
• Preferable 3+ years in retail
• Intermediate to advance analytical bent of mind along with good business acumen and understanding
• Demonstrated abilities to work across functional teams
• Demonstrated work experience of working closely with senior leadership
• Advanced knowledge of modeling techniques, use of Excel (Power pivot, Power Query, VBA), PowerPoint
• Strong work ethic based on desire to exceed expectations

Job Responsibilities

• Ideate, contribute to and ensure delivery and perfect execution of strategic category reviews and associated projects through effectively recommending strategies for merchants, identifying risks and opportunities and proactively calling out outliers for categories
• Build robust processes to ensure 100% accurate and timely analysis for productivity and optimization
• Contribute to a high performing team that will build, monitor, and report out business performance, deliver adhoc projects by following practices towards building a state-of-the art delivery organization
• Serve as a strategic partner during business review meetings and work closely with GE HQ teams to ensure business delivers within approved forecasts / plan / budgets for Category / optimization / productivity
• Drive projects that provide answers to strategic and tactical business questions, while dealing with some level of ambiguity
  • Grasp the problem on hand; translate to tangible and usable work product (create ‘what-if scenarios’)
  • Recommend suitable approach to solve problems given the facts, data and any other information (financial / operational)
  • Strong narratives with impact – (why, what, how) to influence decision making
  • Manage planning & analysis using various levers- products, inventory, pricing, promotion, business landscape, merchant inputs that play a key role in retail
  • Present the analysis and recommendations to senior team members; leadership on strategic decisions, planned initiatives
• Work with GE HQ to identify opportunities, leverage commonalities and ensure proactive solution build and delivery
• Establish and maintain operational, financial and business metrics
• Challenge status quo to add diverse perspectives to solve complex business problems with a keen sense of curiosity, understanding, bias to action, customer needs and deliver objective with superior quality
• Pursue self-development; seek performance feedback; adapt and learn from change
