To develop plans for further expansion of airport facilities to meet the growing traffic demands .These development plans are to be based on modern airport technologies which ensure safety, high operating efficiencies, and quick turn-around of the aircraft. The Terminal Planning is to be based on state of art technologies resulting in high service levels and enhances passenger experience. The Planning Goal is to make IGI Airport as an outstanding gateway airport, ranking amongst the best in the world.

IGI Airport is a huge land parcel of over 5000 acres, right in the midst of its catchment area. The challenge is to maximize the capacity of this airport with technological innovations and best industry practices.

Our objective is to ensure that all the developments of the airports are carried out in an orderly manner so that the roadmap for master plan development is not infringed and future development not jeopardized for short term gains.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Drawing up plans for improving the existing airside infrastructure. It is done by rationalizing the taxiways (addition of new taxiways/rapid exits) in a manner that the runway occupancy time on all runways is reduced as per ICAO/IATA recommendations. The taxiing distances are to be optimized; resulting in for shorter taxiing route, improving apron efficiency by in-depth analysis.

The planning thrust to improve operating efficiencies, maximize capacities and maintain low noise levels. Best recommended software of FAA & other planning tools would be extensively used to develop most cost effective design. Support the Airside operation team in developing/finalizing the drawings & charts assessing the impact of changes wherever required. This includes ensuring compliance with ICAO standards and industry best practices & implementation of NATS recommendations in a phased manner. To ensure compliance with ICAO standards & recommended practices and DGCA (CAR). To ensure that development do not infringe master plan provisions.

Monitor/advice on a continued basis regarding height restrictions for new developments in/around Airport in accordance with ICAO Annex 14, Radar/Nav- Aid considerations and line-of-sight requirements, in coordination with AAI as required.

Education Qualifications

• B.E Civil/Arch.
• Sound knowledge of ICAO Standards & Recommended practices, ICAO Aerodrome & Service Manuals, IATA Guidelines ADRM , DGCA – CAR , FAA Advisory Circulars, NBC , BIS Standards ,
• Use of modern Software for A-CADD , Path Planner, Tools for Simulation Techniques, Spread Sheet Models , Queuing Theory Application

Relevant Experience

• At least 16 years in the field of Proven- Hands on, Aviation Planning & Design at a large airport.
