Your Day to Day

As a DevOps Engineer you will be working on:

• Work with a strong team of enthusiastic and talented experts in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Build, operate, maintain, and improve GoTo application infrastructure in datacenters, AWS, and Oracle cloud

• Take part in designing and automating a robust provisioning process for database environment setups and hybrid-cloud based solutions

• Participate in On-call rotations, troubleshoot and fix critical issues in the production environments, deliver solution, and provide root cause analysis while recommending, influencing, and implementing solutions to operational problems.

• Support the product development teams in design, development, and troubleshooting

• Continuously document processes and author user guides for an expanding database infrastructure. Creating requirement documents and system maps for the auto-scaling of applications deployed in our datacenters.

• Work closely and synchronize with other teams across GoTo to follow standards and improve technical processes

• Have ownership of initiatives and driving them through to completion

What we are looking for:

As a DevOps Engineer, your background will look like:

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science with 3+ years of Infrastructure and database experience in distributed production systems

• Experience with Oracle, Postgres MySQL, CouchDB, Cassandra and Kafka

• Solid operational knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure

• Excellent programming/scripting language skills (Python, Bash etc.) 

• Provide a timely response to all incidents.

• Experience with GIT & git flow concepts 

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins 

• Experience in designing the monitoring Database infrastructure with commercial or open-source monitoring systems (e.g. Splunk, Logic Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Wavefront, etc), knowing logging standards, self-healing applications and providing Availability as a Service

• Fluent English knowledge, able to communicate complex ideas in English
