The Partnership Coordinator is a position working directly with the U.S. Forest Service at the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests main office in Gainesville, Georgia. The position supports the Georgia Mountains Children’s Forest Network (CFN), a collective of dynamic partners coming together to make change. As land managers, NGO’s, and individuals with unique tools and resources, CFN together works to expand and build upon successful programming and increase access to public lands for all.
CFN sponsors programs such as Forest For Every Classroom educator workshops that provide skills for place-based service learning, Restoring Ourselves Restoring Our Lands educator training for expanding equity on public lands, NextGen Forest Ambassadors outdoor experiential program for teens, Every Kid Outdoors 4th grade outreach programs, along with myriad classroom visits, career connections, events, festivals, and more!
This 26-week program is a rigorous work and learning experience that provides exposure to the Forest Service, development and training opportunities, and the opportunity to make a lasting impression on generations to come. This position requires a detailed oriented and self-motivated individual. The internship will focus on Partnership Coordination and allow for the development of knowledge, skills, and expertise to assist this site.
Duties
Major Duties
Assignments are designed to provide experience and familiarity with the work of the unit. As an advanced trainee, the incumbent performs a wide variety of duties under the guidance of a higher graded employee associated with the development and implementation of the Forest Partnership Program.
In a developmental capacity, participates in the development, maintenance, and health of the partnership program on the unit. Assists staff across the unit regarding partnership development (partner cultivation, relationship building, and identifying mutual benefits) and implementation (agreement development, monitoring and reporting).
Assists in the development partnership efforts with non-governmental organizations, other government agencies, community organizations, and/or other local or regional stakeholders.
