In this role you will perform various responsibilities across the Global Model Development Team, part of the Global Strategic Advisory (GSA) arm of Guy Carpenter. As a Software Developer at Guy Carpenter, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of high-performance, highly scalable scientific modelling platform using leading agile development practices. This is a hands-on role that works both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. You must be delivery-focused and possess broad set of technology skills to take this complex modeling platform to the next level of usability, ease of use and user interaction sophistication Role Description Role Requirements Working with our Model Solutions & Advisory colleagues globally, you will be in a development role involving a range of activities including:

• Develop in C#, Python and .NET framework using Agile development methods and the latest Microsoft Azure technologies.
• Work directly with actuaries, experts in reinsurance, and capital modeling to develop user interface for modeling functionality and results analysis.
• Work on a team with project managers and domain experts to design, implement, test and support software products, tools, and analysis platform.
• Meet with product users to understand their goals and the domain. Use their feedback to further improve the user experience of the modeling software.

Technical Skills

• C# and Python using Agile development methods and the latest Microsoft Azure technologies.

Preferred candidate profile Prior Experience

• 8+ years’ experience in an applied environment utilizing your skills to solve business problems.
• Proven record of shipping commercial software
• Strong object oriented design experience, including knowledge of common design patterns
• Experience with Python, C# and the .NET framework
• Familiar with mapping and geospatial concepts
• Experience developing user interface for complex products and highly technical users
• Proven ability to extract goals, ideas and approaches from domain experts and translate them into elegant UI design.
• Experience with web UI frameworks, HTML, CSS, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, MapBox
• Experience with interactive charting and graphing packages for the visual display of quantitative information
• Experience working directly with users on an agile development team strongly preferred

Education/ Qualification

• Bachelor’s/ Master degree: Software Engineering and Programming
