Job Description:

Objective: To develop and approve new packages, new suppliers and liaise with bottling plants to improve productivity and quality at optimum cost

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify, improve and liaise with packaging laboratories / Business unit to authorize new suppliers
• Identify, select, authorize and/or manage relationships with vendors or suppliers to ensure proper capabilities, conformance with Company standards and appropriate products and services (e.g., ingredients,
  materials, testing services)
• Generate, document and execute a plan to select and/or develop technology (e.g., packaging, tools, processes, equipment, and products) including managing the change control process, in order to meet the
  project’s specific objectives (e.g., improve quality, deliver new products, and optimize processes).
• Prepare package specifications and ensure standardization
• Co-ordinate new package launches by working with QA, Marketing, Operations and bottling plants.
• Review and implement IPQP for all materials across all bottling plants. Co-ordinate packaging related issues at bottling plants.
• Monitor and improve package quality and conduct technical audits at the supplier plants
• Understand and co-ordinate implementation of corporate packaging policies and recycling issues
• Identify and implement quality improvement systems like ISO – 9000, SPC/SQC, Benchmarking etc. across major suppliers.
• Build and develop relationships with peers and others to exchange feedback on product/service issues, identify and/or solve problems, assess needs, and/or achieve business results.
• Establish relationships and work effectively with external individuals/parties (e.g., customers, bottlers, consumers, communities, government agencies, vendors, suppliers) in order to create opportunities for the Company to meet financial goals.
• Validate new packaging material ensuring semless development and execution
• Data compilation facilitating decision making on optimum package development encompassing both back end and front end supply chain

Internal Customers: Plant Associates, procurement team, RTM team, Sales Department, Division Office technical Department

External Customers: Packaging Material Supplier, Consumers, Regulatory Authorities, Key Accounts, OEM

Job Requirements:

Qualifications: Graduate Engineer or P.G.Diploma in Packaging

Experience: 3-5 years of work experience

Functional Skills:

• Ability to deal with suppliers senior management and cross functional communication within the organization.
• Ability to understand technical & quality aspects of package manufacturing, package development, quality management systems and soft drinks manufacturing.
• Technical understanding of nuances involved in beverage packaging.

Travel: 60%
