Community Relations Specialist
Honeywell India is committed to serve the communities through several Honeywell Hometown Solutions (HHS) initiatives in the areas of science and math education, family safety and security, and environmental sustainability. In addition, Honeywell volunteers contribute time and effort via various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities that are managed and delivered locally at and around Honeywell India sites.
To unite these activities into a powerful One Honeywell initiative that delivers real, measurable, and sustainable impact for its communities, Honeywell India has a not-for-profit entity named Honeywell Hometown Solutions India Foundation. The Foundation receives funding from Honeywell India entities and seeks, builds, and partners with credible NGO networks to deliver meaningful outcomes for its stakeholders.
Position
The Community Relations Specialist of Honeywell Hometown Solutions India Foundation, will be responsible for supporting the CSR Lead and the Core team in developing, executing, managing and measuring corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs aligned with the Honeywell Hometown Solutions policy, while complying with Schedule VIII of the new Companies Act 2013 of the government of India.
This is a unique opportunity to create impactful CSR programs to support communities in alignment with Honeywell’s business goals, culture, and values. This is a critical position working closely with the Sr. Community Relations Specialist and CSR Lead for Honeywell India along with Global Director for Honeywell Hometown Solutions, and the President, Honeywell India.
Key Responsibilities
One should have strong understanding on the development sector, UN SDGs, developmental issues at local, national and international levels, socio-economic and environmental issues of third world countries, human rights, humanitarian issues and current affairs.
Support CSR Lead and dept in Driving research, planning, and development of comprehensive CSR programs aligned with overall business strategy.
Effective stakeholder engagement and education, and the management of program and program partners, track the progress and utilization of CSR grant on a timely manner.
Drive employee engagement activities, manage the Benevity tool and develop required content and communications. Ensure at least 5000 volunteering hours are clocked in a year.
Support in developing a CSR plan of action which includes Honeywell’s proposed strategies and commitments towards the creation of a sustainable future and grounding the same.
Scout for right partners and work with credible NGOs to execute Honeywell’s CSR mandate.
Willing to travel to project locations to monitor programs closely atleast once in a quarter.
Support CSR Lead in ensuring compliance with budgets, financial and operational forecasts. Support in creating sustainable audit framework to ensure compliance with Honeywell policies and processes, and with the Indian government’s CSR mandate
Support in managing CSR dashboard, including establishment of benchmarks for programs and communication including ongoing tracking, auditing, reporting, and supporting compliance for all contributing Honeywell India entities.
Proactively track trends, changes and best practices in CSR especially among peers, and integrate them into the Foundation’s CSR framework
Support in building and expanding the visibility of the Honeywell brand as a socially responsible one both internally and externally working closely with the corporate communications team. Represent the company internally and externally at key business and CSR forums
Completely own and manage the vendor management of HHSIF and ensure timely payouts without any hassles.
Support CSR Lead and Core team in enhancing the awareness of CSR initiatives among external and internal stakeholders including partners, customers, government, think tanks and academia, and civil society via media and industry forums
Maintain and update CSR Repository both online and offline and support the CSR lead on the required to ensure smooth maintenance of the same.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
A professional with insights into community, volunteerism, corporate citizenship and how these ties into CSR strategy to drive business impact.
The ideal candidate would have a bachelor’s degree in the social work, Social Sciences, Communications, Marketing, or Business Management with, but not limited to, 3 – 8 years of experience in handling Communications, CSR Programs, managing community relations or in project management role
Experience leading corporate citizenship, cause-branding or related initiatives, track record of leading CSR initiatives with measurable business and social results will be preferred.
Previous work experience in a fast-paced, high-growth industry environment and a highly matrixed, process-driven, global organization, is preferred
Experience in developing and implementing CSR plans and strategies
Strong communicator and must have problem solving abilities and stakeholder management skills
