We are looking for a Head of Government Relations for India to be based in Gurgaon. You will report directly to the Head of Government Relations for the Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities will include:
Your primary responsibility will be to lead the government relations program for India. India is an important and strategic location for HP and you will drive and implement an effective and credible strategy to engage key stakeholders, advocate for favorable policies, build HP’s profile with the Indian government, protect HP assets and drive thought leadership.

You will need to engage and develop deep relationships with key government and industry stakeholders, including Ministry of Electronics and IT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Prime Minister’s Office, Government e Marketplace, Bureau of Indian Standards, Manufacturers Association for IT, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Confederation of Indian Industry etc.

Areas of focus include protecting supplies business models, enabling market access, supporting supply chain transformation and resiliency, navigating geopolitical disruptions, and advocacy for environmental product regulations.

You need to be an independent self-starter with excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across a matrixed organization and be a trusted advisor to senior executives. We are looking for a great advocate, both internally and externally, and you must both be a leader and a team player in a small but highly-effective regional government relations team.

Specific requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

More than 15 years of experience in government relations, public policy or a related field.

Familiar with the political landscape and stakeholders in India.

Ability to build good relationships with government and industry stakeholders.

Excellent communication skills.

Well-versed with technology and excellent computer skills.

Possess a growth mindset.
