What you’ll do:
“As a Software Development Manager you will lead a development team creating innovative solutions as well as maintaining the product code base for existing customers. You will work closely with other team members and also serve as Product Owner to ensure technical solutions are found & delivered in a timely manner. You will be working in a fast-moving Agile Java development environment, where a willingness to learn quickly and deliver on time will be required.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage staff effectively to ensure the highest quality and timely delivery of engagements, to include hiring, performance and salary reviews, resource allocation
• Responsible for working with product owners and other stakeholders in the development of various applications within the organization in support of projects and releases, aligning with delivery dates and available development resources
• Overseeing the quality, schedule, and pace of software development within your teams
• Communicate at all levels, ensure open communication and expectations throughout a project
• Ensure proper communication concerning changes in established milestones or challenges that may affect the outcome of a project’s completion date
• Actively seek to resolve any concerns while adhering to the company policy and standards of behavior
• Enabling your team to perform their best by negotiating resources and skill development to remove blockers and create new opportunities.
• Coaching and developing staffs (both interpersonal skills and technical skills)
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the team through mentoring of junior staff, monitoring, optimizing and collaboration
• Conduct basic management responsibilities as assigned

The Successful candidate will have:

• Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication and project management skills a must.
• Experience working with world-wide distributed team members
• Experience affecting change in agile development processes
• Proven experience in scrum framework for developing, delivering, and sustaining products in a complex environment
• Experience providing coaching or mentoring

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• English Fluent (verbal and written)
• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in software development
• Minimum 5 years’ experience practicing agile principles to perform essential functions within an enterprise organization
• Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication and project management skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and commit to agreed business goals
• Ability to identify, manage and communicate project risks
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• 5+ Years Experience developing commercial software using Java
• 5+ Years Knowledge of security best practices and methodologies
• 5+ Years Experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems
• 5+ Years Experience with unit and integration testing
• 5+ Years Experience in security log analysis, application log analysis, and general log management best practices
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills
• Self-driven with attention to detail and quality
• Experience XML, XML Schema and Document Type Definition (DTD), APIs for manipulating XML
• Development experience with relational databases
• Scripting experience using an exhibited language such as Perl and/or Python (additional scripting language knowledge a plus)
• Experience with a broad range of Java technologies (e.g., JMS, JNI, JDBC, …)
