This is a key leadership role as this person will hire and develop the team, put effective development processes in place and choose the right tools to support the delivery of new offerings to our customers and markets. The Development Manager will lead a team of technical leads, developers, and testers. The role requires involvement across the full product development lifecycle from requirements specification, design, delivery, test, documentation, release management to support and maintenance.

As an IBM Software Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that our software components are expertly designed, tested, debugged, verified, and ready for integration into IBM’s best-of-breed solutions that help organizations improve their business outcomes in the global marketplace.

Key responsibilities include:

• Plan, manage, build, design and deliver requirements, enhancements, quality, and performance improvements to the marketplace.
• Work in an agile environment, drive multi-disciplinary squads working on the user interface within the large global development product group.
• Leading the Design and development of the product, following the agile principles.
• Collaborate with Architects, DevOps Engineers and Offering Managers across our global organization.
• Encompass technical assessments of – product management requirements, scrum management, sprint and release planning, unit test and system verification test.
• Perform employee personnel management such as hiring, performance evaluation, creation, and monitoring of individual education plans, career growth in accordance with IBM HR best practices.
• Lead and motivate a full-stack team in a fast-paced environment developing the next generation of AI-infused infrastructure management features used in our premier hybrid cloud management product.
• Support customers on the developed products within defined SLAs.
• Suggest and drive through product innovations.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Minimum 10 years of Development experience with least 5 years experience in managing complex software development projects/teams including people management
• Experience of developing reusable software, framework based products ingested with scalability, availability, reliability, testability and rich user experience.
• Experienced in software development methodologies, systems integration, and automation
• Good technical understanding of Software Development Agile practices, CI/CD processes, DevOps methodologies, and ability to map to an executable plan
• Good communication skills, ability to mentor, motivate and integrate teams.
• Growth-mindset: Willingness to learn new technologies and processes
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or comparable

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Cloud certifications: AWS, Azure, GCP
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Red Hat OpenShift
• Experience in development and application of AI and ML models
