IFF is seeking a result driven individual to join our Facilities & Real Estate team asSHE Lead. This role is Hyderabad based and will report to Facilities Manager, India.

Your Focus

As SHE Lead, you will lead the Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) activities. Promote and support operational excellence, continuous improvement in SHE, lab safety, construction safety, chemical safety, project construction.

This role is accountable for overseeing compliance of India SHE policies, procedures and methods. Provide oversight, develop solutions, and facilitate implementation of SHE programs, training, events, and methods. Ensure compliance with identified requirements.

How You Will Contribute

• Disseminate and communicate EHS Policy, EHS Management System requirements to the Employees and contractors and project teams.

• Ensure Implementation of Contractor Safety Management system and further work with contractors to influence and improve their EHS performance and are aligned with company standards. Ensure continuous improvement in EHS Management System.

• Facilitate the site team in achieving zero accident/incident target.

• Familiar with the legal requirements pertaining to pollution control board and safety.

• Familiar with Permit to work system.

• Familiar with norms of Bio safety and Enzyme exposures.

• Act as a change agent to drive safety culture. Provide support to line management for implementation of Safety requirements and prioritize Safety initiatives for successful delivery.

• Perform virtual and onsite ergonomic assessments in order to provide employee with behavioural and/or equipment recommendations.

• Conduct Monthly EHS committee meeting with committee members & minute the proceeding for circulation and follow up action for compliance.

• Participate in the implementation and refinement of firm-wide safety programs, including but not limited to emergency preparedness, travel & event safety, chemical management, Bio safety, vendor due diligence, etc.

• Prepare site specific emergency plan & Conduct periodic Mock drills. Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) & determine control measures for all activities of the operations and ensure its periodic review and update. Incident investigation, root cause analysis, reporting and analysis of incidents.

• Prepare Training calendar & conduct Training and educational program for Employees, Contractors.

• Verify the Permit to Work (PTW) system for effective implementation.

Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful

• Degree in Science Engineering or any relevant discipline.

• Govt recognized safety diploma from Correspondence course of OSHA, NICMAR, RLI / CLI, National & State Productivity council and other state technical education boards etc.

• Atleast 5-10 years of experience in R&D and chemical industry.

• Demonstrated knowledge in development of Job Safety and Job Hazard analysis (JHA and JSA).

• Extensive experience with OSHA, Productivity Council.

• Working experience in dealing with Pollution Control board and Environmental disposal.

• Well versed with Microsoft applications (Presentation, Excel).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Work independently and under tight time constraints.

• Proficient with technology.

• Ability to work effectively within a multi-functional and cultural team environment.
