Job Description
As our Lead Jira support admin you will join our Engineering support and tooling team in Kolkata where we strongly believe that working hard and having fun are two compatible elements. This role has some specific regular tasks but also has many ad hoc tasks.
We are looking for a Jira support engineer with a focus on engineering excellence to join our Engineering support and tooling team within RnD. The purpose of the central practice is to enable the R&D organization to create, maintain and rollout high-quality world-class products by facilitating common infrastructure, aligned ways of working and timely communication across our quality framework.
By joining IFS as a Lead Jira support admin, you will have the opportunity to work with many stakeholders across the R&D organization as you drive the improvement of our use of Jira and AHA and Confluence and in doing so support our DevSecOps transformation. This role will grow in capacity to contribute to a team of JIRA engineers to own this function within the organization.
You should be able to
Confidently liaise with multiple stakeholders, often with conflicting opinions, to align one single way of working within the Jira tool.
Managing the AHA instance to align with JIRA processes and defining the scope within the business with the stakeholders
Document, advise, design and deliver changes to the development and quality/engineering processes around our use of Jira and implement them within the tool.
Work closely with the Engineering community and other members of the central Practices teams to ensure a unified process, toolset and reporting set.
Understand our reporting requirements and design and implement processes, tools and reports in order to communicate our quality status effectively to senior stakeholders.
Technically implementing changes to Jira
Manage and administer Jira in a complex multi-faceted environment, to support our DevSecOps transformation.
Helping guide the configuration and documentation of client JIRA and Confluence instances
Working with internal customers to enable custom workflows, fields, screens, dashboards, and reports
Creating and managing complex configuration elements including project workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes
Advising on best practices configuration and recommendations to avoid common pitfalls and challenges
Installing and configuring 3rd party add-ons for Atlassian products to provide enhanced capabilities (P
Providing team training on Jira and Confluence usage within the organization
To be successful as Lead JIRA administrator, having a positive attitude and a “can-do” mindset is key. We expect you to “think outside the box” and be a front runner when it comes to challenging status quo in the strive for improvements.
