Fellowship Grant:

• An attractive monthly fellowship (INR 1,00,000 – INR 1,50,000).
• A one-time contingency/research grant of up to INR 2,00,000.

If selected, the applicant cannot avail of any other fellowship in parallel.

Duration: The fellowship may last 1 year to 1.5 years and extend beyond this period for another period based on performance. The fellow will be evaluated at regular intervals by an internal review committee

Essential Qualification:

• The candidate should have two years of experience post-completion of the Ph.D. This experience is expected to be in industry or academia in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Industrial Design, Cognitive Science, and Multisensory Applications.
• Age limit: Preferably less than 35 years. Age will not be a bar for exceptionally qualified candidate.
• Nationality of the candidate is not a constraint.
• Demonstrate excellence in research through technology development, patents, and publications in top-tier journals/conferences.
• Candidate must be qualified for GATE/GPAT/ NET or equivalent examination.
• The overall CGPA of the applicant should be greater than or equal to 7.5

Job profile:

The iHub faculty fellow would be called the “iHub Fellow,” and the fellow would be affiliated for the duration of the fellowship with iHub at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi. The fellow would pursue research at the iHub. Potential activities that the faculty fellow may engage in at the iHub may include:

• The iHub faculty fellow is expected to do research and technology development at the iHub in areas related to Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Industrial Design, Cognitive Science, and Multisensory Applications”.
• To write and submit proposals on behalf of iHub to industries.
• To develop technology for industrial adoption covering industries like Healthcare, Automobile Manufacturing, Defence & Security, Environment & Agriculture, and Information Technology.
• Designing and prototyping interactive systems, products, or services.
• Evaluating the usability and effectiveness of interactive systems, products, or services.
• Mentoring junior researchers or interns.
• Participating in grant writing and proposal development for internal and external funding opportunities.
• Skill and Human Resource Development (HRD): Training and generating skilled human resources in the HCI and allied areas at the graduate, post-graduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral levels. This activity may include high-quality personnel training via short-term (1-2 weeks long) and long-term (2-3 months long) workshops.
• Entrepreneurship and Start-ups: Mentoring start-ups and entrepreneurs-in-residence in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Industrial Design, Cognitive Science, and Multisensory Applications.
• Collaborations: Developing sustainable collaborations with industry and academia in India and abroad.
