Role Description
Role Description: Teradata Administrator

We are looking for a highly capable Teradata Administrator to ensure that our corporation capitalizes on the benefits offered by the Teradata tool. To ensure success as a Teradata Administrator, you should possess extensive knowledge of Teradata system administration and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Teradata Administrators ensure that their Teradata expertise translates into optimized Business Analytics operations.

Weekend support applicable, with corresponding Comp-offs.

Role and responsibilities
Server Installation, configuration and maintain base software: In coordination with Teradata Environment set-upsChange Management: Initiates and Execute Change RequestsSecurity Management: Implement data & user security policies.Patch & Release Management: Minor ReleasesCapacity Management: Database capacity planning, provide current space usage and forecast data growth.Performance, Capacity & Utilization MonitoringBackup, data recovery and service restoration managementLog technical support tickets with vendor helpdeskAlignment with Information Planning to ensure data governance, model and standardization Provide consultation to application development teams on technical issues, techniques and SQL review.Create physical database structures based on physical design for development, test, and production environments.Documentation and Periodic Reporting, Update Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs)Technical Skills:Good Knowledge of SQL and TeradataKnowledge of Informatica and ESPxSystem Administration (includes site creation, server maintenance/Upgrades/patches).Change management including software, hardware upgrades, patches
Nice-to-have skills
Must demonstrate ability to analyze medium to large, complex, or vague Business or Technical problem and translate analysis into viable solution recommendations.Experience in driving out requirements and building documentation process.Familiar with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum. Ability to work with both business and technology Customer.Knowledge of key functional areas such as sales and marketing reporting and financial reporting would be an added advantage.
Qualifications
B.Tech., M.Tech. or MCA degree from a reputed university
