What youll do at Insight We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of our organization’s cloud-based data solutions on the Azure platform. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the overall data architecture strategy and ensuring alignment with business objectives, data governance policies, and industry best practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure data solutions that drive business value.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Data Architecture Strategy: Develop and maintain the organization’s enterprise data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business requirements, data governance policies, and industry best practices. 2. Cloud Data Solution Design: Architect and implement cloud-based data solutions using Azure services such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Synapse Analytics Dedicated SQL Pool. 3. Data Integration and ETL/ELT: Design and oversee the implementation of data integration processes, including Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) or Extract, Load, and Transform (ELT) pipelines, to move data from various sources into the Azure data platform, including on-premises databases, SaaS applications, SAP systems, and other cloud-based data sources. 4. Azure Databricks and Big Data Analytics: Architect and implement big data analytics solutions using Azure Databricks, leveraging its Apache Spark-based analytics engine for data processing, machine learning, and advanced analytics workloads. 5. SAP Data Integration: Develop and implement strategies and solutions for integrating SAP data with Azure data platforms, ensuring efficient and secure data movement and transformation from SAP systems. 6. Data Governance and Security: Lead the development and enforcement of data governance policies, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with industry regulations and standards. Implement data access controls, data masking, and data encryption strategies. 7. Performance Optimization: Optimize the performance of data solutions by implementing caching strategies, partitioning data, and leveraging Azure’s scalability and high-availability features. 8. Data Modeling and Analysis: Design and implement data models for analytical workloads, such as data warehouses and data marts, using technologies like Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, or Azure Databricks. 9. Data Visualization and Reporting: Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to design and implement data visualization and reporting solutions, leveraging tools like Power BI, Azure Analysis Services, or Databricks-based visualizations. 10. Cloud Infrastructure Management: Work closely with cloud infrastructure teams to ensure the efficient and secure deployment and management of Azure resources for data solutions. 11. What youll need to join Insight
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
- 12-15 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data engineering roles, with a strong emphasis on cloud-based data solutions.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure data services, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Synapse Analytics Dedicated SQL Pool.
- Proven expertise in data integration techniques, including ETL/ELT processes, and experience with on-premises and cloud-based data sources.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, scripting languages (e.g., Python, Scala), and data modeling techniques.
- Solid understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with big data analytics frameworks, such as Apache Spark, and hands-on experience with Azure Databricks.
- Familiarity with SAP data integration and experience integrating SAP data with cloud data platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with a passion for knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
