The ICCT is looking for a self-directed, energetic team leader to implement the research strategy of the ICCT heavy-duty vehicles program in India. Representative work can be seen at https://theicct.org/indiahttps://theicct.org/electric-vehicles. You will report to the India Managing Director in Delhi.
You Will:
Lead the implementation of the ICCT outreach & communication strategy in India
Follow up for meetings/engagements with project partners, including government agencies, private sector, donors, etc.
Lead in organizing virtual/in-person events, workshops, conferences, publication launches, etc
Coordinate with external vendors to produce knowledge products, material required for events, program brochures, and other collaterals.
Develop press releases, media briefings around events, and/or publication launch
Develop and maintain a calendar of events happening in India and in which staff are participating, as well as broader transport-related events for outreach
Develop and maintain media lists and develop op-eds, articles, and other pieces for media professionals in India and the region
Work with global communication team to create graphics, infographics, and other digital content like videos to promote key events and publication launches.
Work with global communication team to manage, update and curate content on relevant web platforms, and serve as the point of contact for implementing similar properties in the future.
Contribute content for ICCT’s media and social media channels for India’s work
Perform quality preliminary control checks on all new and revised content to check for length, language, flow, and grammar in keeping with ICCT’s style guide.
Create and maintain a repository of images that can be used across a variety of communications and research products
Maintain an editorial calendar for blogs, opinion pieces, and other articles to ensure content from the team is periodically published on ICCT’s blogs and external publications
Maintain contact lists for the program and send out periodic newsletters and other emailers using relevant tools.
Participate as a core member of the India team in weekly calls and other meetings and keep other ICCT offices updated regularly about the work being undertaken
You Have:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with relevant experience in communications, journalism, or public relations. A Master’s level or other graduate-level degree is a plus.
Minimum ten years of full-time experience working with the following:
Online content management systems, particularly open-source platforms such as Drupal or WordPress
Social media management
Project management experience developing websites and other marketing collateral using external vendors
Event management
Work experience with research organizations / civil society is a plus
Experience of working in and knowledge of the transport sector in India. Commitment to and understanding of the transportation and development space on an ongoing basis
Ability to build and maintain productive relationships internally and externally.
Demonstrated English writing ability to communicate complex ideas in a well-organized, everyday language.
Knowledge of and ability to conduct communication campaigns in vernacular languages will be an added asset.
Basic photo-processing and editing skills.

You must be able to connect research to policy and translate technical information to stakeholders. This position will be based in Delhi. Some domestic (within India) travel may be required. The contracted hourly rate will be between 600 and 750 INR on a full-time basis.
