Hughes Precision was incorporated in 2016 for the manufacture of Defence Equipment. It has the world’s fastest and most accurate ammunition inspection system available. It is a high-speed comprehensive inspection system that detects all critical defects according to MIL-STD-636 for small-caliber and MIL-STD-651 for medium-caliber ammunition and components.

We have established a state-of-the-art facility for small-caliber ammunition in Verna Industrial Estate, Goa, India. The facility spans 8,000 sq. meters and has an In-house test facility and range.

We are looking for an experienced Chief Security Officer for our organization. This position will report to the MD

Roles And Responsibilities

The Chief Security Officer (CSO) will design, implement, and lead enterprise-wide security measures to safeguard all operational facilities, assets, personnel, and intellectual property. This pivotal leadership role demands a retired CISF officer with 20–25 years of hands-on, high-stakes security management experience, ideally in defence or critical infrastructure settings

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee security policies, SOPs, and audit procedures tailored to ammunition manufacturing and storage.
• Manage physical security architecture: perimeter defense, access controls, CCTV, and surveillance management.
• Build and lead a high-capability security team (in-house and/or contract), ensuring 24×7 readiness.
• Liaise with CISF, NIA, paramilitary units, state police, and intelligence agencies for threat intelligence, compliance, and licensing.
• Protect raw materials, work-in-progress stock, production lines, finished goods, and testing infrastructure.
• Oversee on-site explosive safety protocols, regulated storage, transportation security, and environmental compliance.
• Lead incident response, emergency drills, and critical event management (e.g. sabotage, fire, civil disturbance).
• Conduct risk assessments—both operational and site-based—and advise on security enhancements for new facility expansions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD inspection norms), regulatory guidelines, and arms/ammunition licensing.
• Oversee background verification programs for personnel, vendors, and logistics partners.
• Manage operating budgets, vendor contracts, KPIs, and performance reviews for security functions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Mandatory: Retired CISF officer, ideally holding the rank of Commandant/DC or above.
• Experience: 20 to 25 years of progressive experience in industrial, defence, ammunition, or critical infrastructure security roles.
• Proven expertise in explosive safety, manufacturing site protection, high-value asset security, and emergency response.
• Strong relationships with government, paramilitary, and regulatory bodies.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional security operations in regulated environments.
• Excellent judgment, high ethics, and comfort working under pressure in sensitive scenarios.
• Strong verbal and written communication; capable of representing the company to regulators, auditors, and senior management.

• Approximately 45–58 years: consistent with retirement norms for CISF officers and required experience.
