In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These programs are funded by USAID, Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, UNICEF, World Health Organization, University of Manitoba, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers and other.
Under the MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership: India-Yash, Jhpiego is hiring for Manager-FP innovation based at Delhi. The position will be responsible for providing technical and functional support across projects focused on family planning and reproductive health to early adolescents 10–14 years & young people 15–29 years with a focus on socio-economic categories C, D and E (the three lowest quintiles) in rural and urban geographies of India.
Work closely with Senior Advisor FP in contributing actively in the process of development of technical updates, preparing materials like learning resource package and manage all project activities
Provide managerial support into all project activities, while ensuring overall timeline and technical quality of Jhpiego processes and products.
Work closely with the technical and state leads on the project and ensure smooth functioning of the project
Identify and manage external partnerships, consultants and resources to ensure they achieve defined milestones on time and adding value to MCGL/ Jhpiegos’ investment
Assist with analytical work, preparation of documents, reports and presentations for internal and external use, as needed
Remain updated on relevant technical subjects, Jhpiego standards and guidelines and national policies
Travel within India in support of activity implementation and mentoring, as needed.
Perform other duties, as and when assigned by the supervisor
Abilities/Skills:
Experience and demonstrated ability in working with government’s Reproductive Health and Child Health programs, counterparts, and systems.
Technical proficiency with current clinical skills required for the relevant clinical and programmatic areas.
Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic documents such as training materials and reports.
Strong oral and written communication skills along including drafting of vision documents and reports.
Ability to develop productive working relationships with a variety of team members in multiple locations.
Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
Ability to multitask and work in a multi-cultural team.
Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks.
Microsoft Office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to travel extensively up to 50–60% of his/her time.
MBBS/Doctor of Medicine (MD)/ Master in Public Health is desirable
Desirable Experience of 7 years and above with at least 2 years of managing staff.
Sound knowledge in managing FP programs in the past
Experience in managing large scale programs in Family Planning/Reproductive Health with multi-stakeholders will be an added advantage.
Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/strategies particularly National Health Mission
