Position Summary
The SAP Basis Manager is responsible for managing the technical infrastructure of SAP systems. This includes the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of the SAP landscape, as well as the management of system performance and capacity.
The key responsibilities of an SAP Basis Manager may include:
Planning, designing, and implementing SAP system landscapes, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
Managing the installation and configuration of SAP systems, including the operating system and database setup.
Developing and implementing strategies for SAP system maintenance, including system updates, patches, and upgrades.
Monitoring SAP system performance and capacity to ensure optimal system operation and user experience.
Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to SAP systems, including system failures and performance problems.
Providing guidance and support to SAP Basis team members and other stakeholders, including developers, project managers, and end-users.
Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including system architecture, configuration, and maintenance procedures.
Collaborating with other IT teams to ensure the integration of SAP systems with other enterprise applications and services.
Participating in project planning and execution, including system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
The SAP Basis Manager requires extensive knowledge and experience in SAP system administration, including expertise in SAP Basis components such as system installation, configuration, performance tuning, and security. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are also required, as the SAP Basis Manager must work closely with other IT teams, business stakeholders, and end-users to ensure the smooth operation of SAP systems.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree may be preferred.
At least 8-10 years of experience in SAP system administration, including experience in SAP Basis components such as system installation, configuration, performance tuning, and security.
Strong technical skills in SAP technologies, including SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA, and SAP Basis administration tools.
Experience with SAP system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Unix, as well as experience with database technologies such as Oracle.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to SAP systems.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with IT teams, business stakeholders, and end-users.
SAP Basis certification is preferred, such as the SAP Certified Technology Associate – System Administration (SAP HANA) certification or the SAP Certified Technology Professional – SAP HANA 2.0 certification.
