The IT Technician is responsible to provide state-of-the-art technology infrastructure and systems to enable business operations in BDC. He is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the offices’ IT infrastructure, such as local area networks, servers, telecom networks, PCs, printers, scanners, etc., as per corporate IT policies, procedures and standards. He is also responsible for the provision of high quality and highly responsive IT technical support to end-users in BDC. The jobholder continuously captures end-users operational challenges and liaises with counterparts in the organizations to ensure the addressing of these challenges. The jobholder shall stay abreast of the latest market developments and trends in the information technology space and adopt best practices, where applicable.

• Ensure responsibilities are fulfilled with a high quality cost-effectively

• Support Senior IT Technician in providing high quality IT infrastructure and services to enable business operations in BDC in accordance with corporate IT policies and procedures

• Capture and address end users’ operational challenges related to IT in BDC.

• Monitor and track users’ level of satisfaction with the quality of IT infrastructure and services in BDC.

• Support BDC end users on the usage of new applications and collect feedback on functionality and improvement opportunities for existing applications

• Provide technical support activities within BDC, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of support for hardware and software problems

• Provide first level IT technical support services to BDC, supporting with desktops, laptops, printers, handheld devices, operating systems,

• Enforce corporate IT policies and procedures within BDC.

• Monitor performance of IT systems and services in BDC and report IT performance to the Senior staff.

• Consolidate technology upgrade requests from BDC and evaluate compatibility with existing IT infrastructure and systems

• Support the implementation of IT projects in BDC.

• Support the Senior IT Technician with the procurement of IT hardware and software in BDC, as needed

• Install and set-up PCs, printers, scanners etc.

• Support in operating and maintaining IT infrastructure, including local area networks, servers, back-up servers, intra-office networks, telecom networks, PCs, printers, scanners, videoconferencing, etc.

• Support in Implementing K&A IT security architecture, such as authentication systems, firewalls, endpoint security, encryption tools

• Support in Managing firewall administration and network security

• Support in Implementing disaster recovery plans, as needed

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

• 3 to 8 years of IT Support Experience

• IT certification is preferred (e.g. MCSE, CCIE, CISSP, CCNA, ITIL, A+, MCTS)

• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, solutions, network planning and support

• Knowledge of IT security policies, procedures and techniques

• Good analytical and quantitative skills

• Good communication skills

• Strong customer service orientation

• Good interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage
