Position Summary:

The Dean of Research & Development (R&D) at KLH University will lead and drive the university’s research agenda, promoting innovation, excellence, and academic partnerships. This position will provide strategic direction and oversee the implementation of R&D activities across various departments, focusing on interdisciplinary research, industry collaborations, and student engagement in cutting-edge research projects. The Dean will also ensure alignment with the university’s broader mission to foster sustainable and impactful research that benefits society.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the university’s strategic vision for research, aligning with institutional goals and national/international trends.

• Oversee the management of research activities, ensuring the highest standards of academic rigor and innovation.

• Foster interdisciplinary research collaboration across various engineering departments.

• Lead efforts to secure research funding through grants, industry partnerships, and collaborative projects, including international partnerships.

• Establish and strengthen Centers of Excellence to drive specialized research initiatives.

• Manage the university’s research funding pool, ensuring resources are allocated effectively across projects, supporting faculty, and enhancing student research opportunities.

• Promote and facilitate faculty development programs that support research excellence and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

• Monitor the progress of research projects, providing strategic guidance and ensuring their successful completion.

• Represent KLH University along with other stakeholders in national and international academic forums, enhancing its research reputation and global network.

• Collaborate with external research bodies like to create new opportunities for research advancement and innovation.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in a relevant field of Engineering or Technology with a proven track record of research excellence from reputed organizations.

• A considerable experience in academic research, including significant administrative responsibilities and leadership experience in higher education.

• Strong publication record in reputed international journals, along with expertise in managing large-scale research projects and securing funding.

• Familiarity with the latest trends in research technology, sustainable development practices, and industry-driven research needs.

• Experience in fostering collaborations with international academic institutions, government agencies, and industries.

• Experience in managing interdisciplinary and cross-functional research teams.

• Knowledge of research evaluation metrics and methodologies, with the ability to drive continuous improvements.

• Experience with patenting processes and commercialization of research innovations.
