Knox City Council Hiring for Curator Bayswater Oval at Depot, Rajasthan Full Time

About the Opportunity

The role is a Curator position that will be primarily based on our sporting ground headquarters at Bayswater Oval. Currently, the venue hosts the EFL Division One Grand Final and is home to the Bayswater Cricket Club who compete in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association. You will Report to the Team Leader of Sportsfields, however, you will also be able to manage your own time with minimal supervision. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your knowledge and skills at Knox’s prime sporting facility, join a supportive and friendly team and enjoy all aspects of Sportsfield maintenance.

Working hours for this position are Monday – Friday 6:30am- 3:30pm with every second Monday being a rostered day off (9-day fortnight).

This is a Band 4 classified role; remuneration will be $66,447.00 – $75,015.76 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will need to thrive

Provide an excellent service to all external and internal customers.

Ensure the maintenance of wicket preparation each week during the summer period is carried out efficiently and effectively in accordance with service guidelines and specifications.

Ensure the mowing and maintenance of turf grass within active reserves is carried out efficiently and effectively in accordance with service guidelines and specifications.

Tasks such as pest and disease identification and control include spraying pesticides, applying fertiliser, irrigation system operation and repairs, topdressing, turf grass renovations and other turf related duties as directed.

The proper operation and maintenance of machinery and plants, including tractor implements, spray units, mowing machinery etc.

Comply with Occupational Health and Safety legislative standards as an employee of the Parks Services team.

To assist other Parks Service’s and Operation’s team members as required and to participate in rotation amongst Parks activities as may be required to address demand in department’s/area workloads. This may include operational and/or minor capital works projects under direction.

To work effectively as part of a team.

To maintain accurate daily work records, including the completion of maintenance requests and hazard identification/risk assessment documentation.
