About the Opportunity
Knox City Council has an exciting full time opportunity available to lead our Sportsfield Team. As Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing our 70 sporting grounds and sports surfaces. You will lead a team of six field staff and schedule mowing duties, organise a range of turf renovation and maintenance tasks such as pest and disease identification, pesticide spraying, pesticide product selection, fertiliser application, fertiliser schedules and product selection, irrigation system operation and basic irrigation repairs, topdressing and turfgrass renovations.

This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $89,229.98 – $97,452 plus allowances (depending on experience) plus 10% superannuation.
What you will need to thrive
Demonstrated management experience in a turf related role, strong leadership, training of staff, computer skills, report writing and financial analysis.
Experience in the safe operation and maintenance of applicable turf related machinery, including tractors and the use of ride on mowers and renovation equipment.
You will have demonstrated ability in working both autonomously and as a team player.
qualification of a Diploma of Sports Turf Management
Excellent communicator, have good computer skills, demonstrated experience with budgets, have knowledge of sporting club requirements and be familiar with sports field usage.
A basic understanding of sports field construction is also desirable.
